  1. Not really new to my collection but I didn't know where to post it. Took me some time to find a copy. Betty and Me 16 cover dated Sept. 1968.
  2. Here's a # 16 from 1958. Not ultra HG but I kind of like midgrade copies because they don't cost nearly as much and there's not a whole lot of S & S collectors out there in contrast to other SA titles. It also contains the "origin story"--"How S & S first met"
  3. Nice copy, Steve. Mine isn't nearly so good, but better than much of my collection! That is a super-nice copy actually. I don't believe I've seen it before. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Always enjoy seeing DC from 1959; truly a world of treasures now lost in time. It took me ages to find a nice copy of this issue, too. Thanks for the generous comment; so it wasn't my imagination. This book is truly hard to locate in a presentable grade. And it was cool getting it at a fair price, too.
  5. This thread certainly could use a bump; no one's posted for over two months. Picked this book up today in Yorba Linda in the OC at Terry's annual show. A real find; it's the nicest copy I've seen in quite some time and it's very hard to find decent copies. Superman 127: First appearance of Titanto cover dated Feb. 1959:
  6. I saw the book up close and personal, Frank, and it looks even better in hand. Great acquisition. That book was the "steal of the show" today. Enjoy it. Steve
  7. Just back from CGC. Bought at a small comic shop in beautiful downtown Burbank back in the early 1990s. Always has been a favorite since I was a kid.
  8. Beautiful books, my friend, especially the Wrightson cover. Fantastic grades. My wife has these copies but nice reading copies and we've read them many times together. She bought a whole collection of DC 1970s horror for about 12 cents a book. Again, Nice books.
  9. As I look at those 1963 baseball cards, I can smell the chewing gum that came with each nickel package. But believe me the smell was far superior to the taste. I still have many of my own from 1963 but my favorite was Juan Marichal and Willie Mays and Sandy Koufax. As a Dodger fan since 1960 I was a Giant hater but Mays was still the greatest position player I ever personally saw at Dodger Stadium and Marichal was as dominant on the mound as Koufax was for my beloved Dodgers. And who can forget that one-of-a-kind high leg kick. Confused the heck out of the batters. PS--Love those Green Lanterns too.
  10. Looks like a pretty nice copy to me. Too many HG elitists on these boards. Lower grade books allow one to read the book and enjoy flipping through the pages.
  11. Thanks whole bunchies for the link. Always wanted to know the cover artist. Didn't know it was Steve Ditko's first published story either. Again, thanks for the information. Will come in handy if I ever decide to part with the book but I'm hanging onto it for a long time. Steve
  12. Here is a real tough book to find in nice shape. This copy has beautiful Cream/OW PQ and overall is probably a 3.5 or 4.0 book. One of my prized possessions. Don't know how to scan the last story based on the Cover Art but it's a great one. From Sept-Oct. 1953: PS--Wish I knew who the cover artist was on the book.
  13. Fantastic books--especially that Showcase 17. Always loved that cover. Congrats.
  14. Never heard of that pedigree but that sure is a beautiful copy. Always enjoyed that issue. Picked up a copy along with a few other Adventures from that same time period at a little store in Burbank, Calif back in the early 1990s. One is at CGC right now--an Adventure 275. It's due back in about a month or so. Congrats!!
  15. Great copy, my friend. A must book for the SA DC collector especially those who enjoy the tales of the "Superman Family". Though the story has been reprinted countless times there's nothing like having the original in hand. One of the great comic book stories of all time. Steve
  16. A DC classic! Contains the origin of Green Arrow as drawn by the inimitable Jack Kirby. One of may all-time favorites. Congrats and Enjoy.
  17. Love raw DC Silver Science Fiction. Therein lies some of the great science fiction stories of the era in any medium. Love your books. Steve
  18. You have absolutely the best DC 1950s and early 1960s Science Fiction Comics I've seen. Your copies are beautiful. I still have many of mine in High Grade but I keep them raw since they're so much fun to read. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Beautiful books. Hard to go wrong with Neal Adams. Congrats!
  20. That is one cool frogman cover. Great book. Not great at recognizing artists but it looks like a Jerry Grandenetti cover. Is this a recent purchase? Anyway, congrats on the acquisition.
  21. The 258 is a hard one to find in any grade.Probably because it contains Jack Kirby Green Arrow and is a high demand book. Would very much like one myself. Great pickup!
  22. Agreed. Love the Superboy issue. I always enjoy a great purple cover and the colors on your copy still are very vivid. Two great stories in that issue, I believe. Thanks for sharing.
  23. The colors on this book really pop! A Wonderful copy! Congrats!
