  1. 10 Story Book January 1936 Classic Cover Just picked this pulp up. Nice copy of this rare pulp. I’m sure some people will consider this a type of a precursor to The Batman, or The Black Bat from the pulps.
  2. What is the grade of the Uncanny Stories #1
  3. Just picked this up: December 1931 (#5).
  4. Here are a few books I picked up lately. I will also post them under the appropriate threads as per title.

  7. Even though it’s more radio, than pulp the piece below does pertain to “The Shadow”. Just picked up a cornerstone piece for my Shadow collection! I think I way, way overpaid for it, but for my collection, I had to have it! A huge (7.5ft x 3ft) Shadow Blue Coal Radio Banner (circa. 1937). The banner is made from a heavy nylon/canvas material! - The 1937 episodes of The Shadow were Sponsored by Blue Coal. Through research I believe that the banner would have been hung somewhere close to the stage (or behind the actors) in the WOR studios, where the live performances were carried out! At this time, Orson Welles would’ve played the The Shadow on the radio during these live performances.

  9. Will have to see how they do. Heritage has had other pulp collections and higher grade examples, but they didn’t have it under a separate pulp auction, that could make the difference. However, I don’t think one single auction at Heritage will expand it worldwide, but repeated auctions certainly might. Dwight
  10. I think some of the books that Rick re-graded, are graded much more accurately. The ones graded before were off by as much is two full grades. Rick has certainly helped tighten the grading up, which is awesome!
  11. I see it now! Couldn’t see it to begin with because I was looking on an iPhone! Very Cool!
  12. Years ago when someone asked me, “If you could own any one pulp painting ever done, which one would it be?” My response was; “The Creeping Death” . Little did I know at that time that it even existed, would come to market, and I would be fortunate enough to obtain it for my collection! ”The Creeping Death” Artist: George Rozen “The Shadow” (circa., January 15, 1933). 21” x 30” - Oil on Canvas
  13. Excited that I was able to add a killer Saunders painting to my collection! When I spoke to David Saunders he relayed to me the story behind the inspiration of this painting, and he said this was a very significant painting that his father did. 21” x 30” (Oil on canvas) Circa. 1939 Secret Agent X *the last issue in the run*
  14. In no particular order: George Rozen Norman Saunders HJ Ward Howitt Tom Lovell St. John Jerome Rozen Brundage Baumhofer
