Does no one take issue with the video that he ruined a hulk 181 book? Or was that a reprint
I was looking for a $3.99 cover price or a facsimile barcode on the side and saw neither. I retract my previous statement about how CGC slabs are easy to open and I'm sorry for any insults I hurled at other people here for failing to see the bigger picture. Although, it may be possible that they can be opened without any flaws, using this youtube clown's videos as the crux of my arguments has already backfired.
Also, they don't call me Foot in the Mouth Flanders for nothing :).

I, too, would like you to demonstrate how this can be done.
You and me both. I'm sure another youtuber will come along to show how it can be done flawlessly. I'll post their video when it shows up. The one posted above that's both on Instagram and Youtube seems a bit rushed and the guy could use better tools, maybe plastic instead of metal, to pry the case open.

That won't fix the issue at all. The main issue is that there are thousands of slabs out there that don't need to go back through CGC to have anything verified. It's easy to swap books and labels without ever having CGC involved in the grading process. If I have any duplicate comics within a certain grade range I can swap the labels from a universal book to a restored or qualified book. I then have a restored or qualified book in a case that shows no signs of tampering in a universal slab that I sell. I then take the universal book and sell it raw or have it graded by CGC or another grading company.
The fact that the label is not attached to the inner well with the comic and that the slab is so easy to open without any signs of tampering, is the issue that you and others are failing to address. Once again CGC doesn't have to be involved in the process after the initial grading and no reholder is necessary for buyer's to be scammed.
Even on higher end books, it appears easy to swap a replica with an original due to the lack of security features on an extremely poorly designed slab. I'm not sure how you're failing to see this, as it's a far bigger issue than a single seller committing fraud.

I was never into the games, but this looks like it's been done right, unlike the Last of Us, which was slow and boring.

I wasn't sure what to read so I picked up a few books at the library from their recommended picks. What a terrible decision.
The first was The Librarianist by Patrick Dewitt. I'm familiar with the author and enjoyed The Sisters Brothers, but I wasn't able to make it past a third of this borefest.
Camp Demascus by Chuck Tingle. I've never heard of the author and won't be reading any more of their books.
The Bitter Past by Bruce Borgos. Kind of interesting since the story is based on a Russian spy that was trying to infiltrate a part of Eastern Nevada where they were testing atomic bombs, but ultimately not worth the read.

eBay will only cover you if you ship to the address they provide for you on the shipping label, even when the buyer messages you giving you documented proof of the address change request eBay will NOT cover you.
The buyer can call eBay and have it changed, and then it will update in their account and then ultimately the shipping label will reflect the change.
I remember reading this somewhere before I made my decision. Ebay has so much fraud that I don't even care to deal with something that's slightly suspicious. The address he requested to send it to is in the same city. Maybe he changed it officially and I could've still sold it to him after the update, but it's still not worth the risk, especially since he only asked if I could deliver it to another address and didn't give any explanation as to why.

He purchased a book from me last night and today he sent me a message asking to ship to a different address. I already printed the label with the Ebay provided address and I don't ship to any address other than this. I cancelled the transaction and sent a message to the buyer asking him to update his address on ebay. I've added the seller to my blocked list, so even if he updates the address I won't be selling to him.

Damn so not only do you get hammered with shipping and selling fees when you sell it on Ebay but also by CGC when you score a high grade.
Thats a lot of lost profit, paying middle men.

Voldemort charges $200 max regardless of value, but their high value slabs sell for substantially less than CGC so it might not be worth it.

I realize the popularity and significance of IH 181. But what a stinker of a book
It's absolutely awful. So is 180. I didn't read either until recently after always thinking about buying a copy for my personal collection. I'm glad I've read both and have no desire to own either one now.

Hard to tell on a photo but there may be a stain (or possible newton ring) to the left of Wolverine's right elbow. I feel that all of the comics I won at auction recently were either accurately graded or even undergraded. It's rare that this actually happens, especially at Comiclink, where they don't post photos of the back cover.

I always thought it was a staple/feature of the hobby and a dream of collectors to find ridiculously underpriced items and bask in the warm glow of their unbelievable luck, but apparently that now means you're a selfish, evil person or something.
I'm all for finding deals, but not turning those deals into an even bigger deal by marrying the cover in hopes of getting a universal label, getting fmv of a complete ASM #1, for an incomplete book, after it was misplaced by someone trying to facilitate a Stan Lee signature, or even having the book encapsulated by CGC with incorrect infromation regarding the condition of the book and having no urge to send it back to them to correct the issue. It sounds like the owner of the ASM has been on the board for awhile and you're just refraining from any criticism because of this. Any other time restoration or things of this nature aren't disclosed it's a huge deal and everyone is on the same page. I know in this case, he's only revealed an intention to capitalize off of a married book rather than actually doing it, but looking at his post as a whole, he comes across as someone that I don't care to interact with or do business with. I don't consider being against these things to be on a high horse. It's a bit ridiculous that so many people here are getting on the case of those of us that are against the idea of profiting at someone else's expense by not disclosing substantial flaws with a book.
If somehow you bs your way through all of this and still think I'm on my high horse, how do you explain the fact that he still hasn't resubmitted the book to CGC to have the error of the missing wraps corrected? CGC would likely still do this at their expense.

I hatched a plan to purchase a complete coverless copy and marry it with my $2 copy's cover BUT I figured I would get caught so I placed it in a mylar with fullback and put it away.
I must've not been able to process this the first time since my mind was too overloaded from the previous paragraphs. The only reason this wasn't married with another book is because the financial risk of being caught. This sounds like a guy that would sell you a restored comic without disclosing it if he was confident he could get away with it. His conscience certainly isn't what would stop him.

Which is why I feel the folks need to be aware of June 1979 being the first month every Marvel regular size Comic Book had both a Newsstand and a Direct Sale is important.
I was oblivious of this until now, thanks for pointing that out. I still haven't paid more for newsstands unless they're from the late 80s and on.

I'm assuming this is the same guy. I'm not a big fan of one of his son's youtube channels, but I'm not about to judge someone based on how closely related they are to a possible crook. I'd hate to be judged by my closest relatives instead of by my own actions. Unless I hear that the sons are dirtbags, I wish them the best of luck with collectors comics. I've used them before and was happy with my winnings, but I've yet to sell some of the dreck I've listed there.

What is "Poor Pressing" and how is that a book defect and not an opinion?

I'd leave them as is except for the Edge of Spiderverse #2. I hope you can pinpoint what you did wrong so this doesn't happen again. Either that or give up the pressing hobby and move on to something else.
