  1. Still the best car chase of all time , people will argue “ the French connection ( same actor in other car )” but this was a Shelby mustang vs a Dodge Charger .... and NO , fast and the furious #’s 1-58 doesn’t count
  2. Good points , I shudder to think what they have Dawn of the Dead - as a Romero purist , I still loved that movie almost entirely ...
  3. Blasphemy ! ... I will agree with some of that though . I actually didn’t read the comics first so had more of a blank slate , the movie reeked of the 80’s but I was okay with that . It wasn’t until I got older I realized how much they drifted from original story ( and hairstyle ) . That being said - I’m a big Arnold fan so I can’t give an unbiased opinion . For what it’s worth , I think the sequel was very bad ...
  4. Glad to see all these positive reviews , I was certain the critics would kill it either way - but what I’m interested in is the option of people who enjoy comic books , because that is what’s relevant to me
  5. I wonder if the goal is to bring this all to a Knull type event , with the recent popularity of the last series . I know he’s a much newer villain but MCU seems comfortable with grabbing stories scattered all over the timeline
  6. This would’ve been a great place to drop one of these 😂... alas ... no laughter is allowed
  7. a cool movie that came out during a very different world from where we are now starring two of the best actors in the biz .. Gene Hackman is one of all time faves and he always brought his A game , even if the film was a clunker , but for the most part - he was in some gems , most of which already listed ... the following below are some staples
  8. A st Patrick’s staple along with “ Darby o ‘Gill and the little people “
  9. One of the few instances where I prefer the remake
  10. Good call - plus nobody really viewed “ the crow “ as a comic book movie , I still listen to that killer industrial soundtrack
  11. as a marvel fan - I can say this was easily the best comic movie for awhile ( until perhaps 1989’s Batman ?)
  12. I prefer the Long running Japanese series , all entertaining
  13. As Kryptonite touched on “Inception” I’d also like to add a another Nolan film I thoroughly enjoyed ( did we list interstellar yet ?) I watched this 2x back to back and a third to pick up additional pieces , really cool .
  14. Scorsese is synonymous with Gangster films ( I still haven’t seen his latest ) however “ the departed “ is my favorite of his gangster movies - the next three are his other gangster films , the last three ( apologies of repeats ) are must- see recommendation of his
  15. Add “Lifeboat” , a very underrated Hitchcock based almost entirely off dialogue with minimal set changes , much akin to
  16. I went to his shop in Red Bank when the show was running - not as extensive as it’s marketed , but Kevin smith made it cool to like comics in that strange twilight time ( late 90’s) when it was losing its luster .
  17. 12 monkeys - one of the best sci-if movies made post blade runner fight club - began my love affair with Chuck Palahnuik books and David Fincher films , one of my faves for a long time - and parallel with the book until the end , similarly to clockwork by burgess
  18. Mind blowing finale - I got to see my son watch it , and was wondering if I had the same dumbfounded reaction
  19. Including the two above “ saving private Ryan” ” thin red line “ ( a sequel to “ from here to eternity “) * for the record , I preferred “American sniper “ and “ lone survivor” novellas more than the films “ life is beautiful “ and “ empire of the sun” are both set against the backdrop of WW2 and are powerful dramas
