    "...pulled them off..."

That's an opinion, of course. I would say that Gunn didn't "pull off" Polka-Dot Man. The actor did a great job, but all the mommy issues were just eye-rolling to me (and many others).

If you're gonna equate Superman to GotG or TSS, then this film is dead before it starts shooting.

Not equating Superman to GOTG or TSS. Not for a second.  Just saying if he could do what he does with D list characters, he will ROCK this one. Time will tell.  I’m hopeful.

  2. Wonder Woman 205 comments state “Origin of Nubia”. This is incorrect.

Wonder Woman 206 is Nubia’s Origin (and the comments for 206 correctly note this).

While “Who Is Nubia” is written on the cover of 205, the issue is not the origin issue.

  3. Or, just maybe..... it will be the best Superman movie we ever had and the highest grossing DC movie ever...... written by an incredibly talented writer whose humor goes way above most of our heads.

After a decade of DCEU dysfunction, I am ALL IN with GUNN... or as Vigilante would say "hashtag me too".    That’s just funny. In bad taste? Maybe. But still just a joke.

Now that I got that off my chest, let the bashing continue.

James Gunn Shuts Down Shazam’s Future Rumor

As if what he has now worked for the sequel?

I will be happy with a confirmation that Shazam (the character) has a future at all on the big screen.  If Shazam does have a place in Gunn's plans, better off not keeping Levi. He hammed up the role WAY too much.   Billy was portrayed as an adventurous, rebellious teen .... that became a complete goofball as an adult Shazam.

  5.

In all fairness, he really wanted nothing to do with Shazam from the get go.  He had a vision, with himself at the center, and it backfired on him. Unfortunately it may have taken Shazam down with him.

I was ecstatic that such a big star was connected to the Shazam universe... Be careful what you wish for.

I can only hope Gunn sees the potential in the character. Perfect gateway character for younger fans to get into DC comics.

I laughed at that scene. A cocaine crazed bear chewing on a guy's head to Depeche Mode's "I Just Can't Get Enough" was the highlight of the movie!

I went into this viewing with low expectations and got what i expected. Tacky tasteless, stupid as described above. I can't give it a good rating, i am at 5/10 but that is a higher score than i gave to many of Marvels recent tv and film releases.

Loved the use of the song, and loved that one of the kids had a DM poster in the bedroom.

  7. Well, my daughter was just watching “The Masked Singer” and called me in because it was DC Comics night. Jim Lee made an appearance as well as Helen Mirren and Zach Levi.

I guess that’s some sort of PR for FOTG, but still pathetic.  The fact that Shazam is Safran’s production and the promotion is dismal is not a good sign at all.

  8.

    TWO Quick questions.

    1) I always thought bleeding was a common production flaw, especially with Red Ink.

Is it possible the grader considered bleeding to be a transfer stain? Transfer stain is when the ink actually transfers onto the next page correct?  There is no transfer of ink to the inside pages.

    I'm still baffled.

    2) What about that scrape looking flaw? Not staining correct?

  9. Ok here we go. I had to crack it.

INSIDE BACK COVER: No stain whatsoever on the inside cover. There is red ink bleeding from the Zingers ad on the back cover. Again that isn't staining.

BACK COVER UNSLABBED: Looks even less like a stain of any sort, however at the right angle under direct light, I do see what looks like scraping?

    Would love to hear your opinions now. @Stronguy @Funnybooks @JollyComics @theCapraAegagrus @comicginger1789 @joeypost

    Thanks so much. Im obsessing.

I don't see ANYTHING!  Just pencil marks which are not big factor.  My strongest suspicion is those graders may be deceived by the inked area on the inside back cover that may be transparent on the back cover as the stain(s).  When I looked at the back cover, I saw the shadows as i thought it was the stains but I realized it was the printed area from inside. I believe they had a bad day upon your books.

Otherwise, the graders may find the "invisible" stain that is hard to see.  I suggested you to turn your book toward the light and find the stain on the surface.   If you don't find it, they may screw up.

I’ve turned it toward the light and every which way I could. Still don’t see a stain!! Maybe as suggested above, it’s in the inside cover. I’m going to have to crack it open this weekend.

    thanks for your input.

I think you are right. Thats all I could imagine. I guess I will  take a look at the inside cover as you suggested.

I hate to think I sent the book in without examining the inside cover, but who am I kidding? It wouldn't be the first time.

Quick question, if a stain isn't present in the inside cover do you think the 8.0 makes sense based on that tiny mark alone?

Thanks so much for your input.
