  1. Was looking at this listing, but with 19 watchers I could tell it had caught a bit to much attention to get a good price. I was out after it passed $60, just too much $$$. https://www.ebay.com/itm/AQUAMAN-35-1967-1st-Appearance-BLACK-MANTA-Movie-DC-Comic-/303102522356?_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true
  2. They do actually look kind of cool, I'm pretty sure they offer alright UV protection as well
  3. Those are from the European Grading Service I'm pretty sure. Different company
  4. Pretty stoked for this dirt cheap price, even though it is coverless.
  5. No, its a secret, surely they're only say "our own proprietary verification tools," because they don't wanna give out the secrets to their high tech revolutionary signature authenticating machine.
  6. No, no, no guys, they're crazy legit just look at the process they use to verify sigs and art.
  7. They blatantly say that the Raw Grade doesn't include restoration "detection", so I would assume for the regular "slab" grade, yes?? (whatever kind of "detection" that may be)
  8. Has this not been addressed. https://egscomicsgrading.com Looks like their just using Slab-It-Yourself (https://comicskin.com) kits, "grading," and sealing it with a sticker. Worst thing is their prices, $25 for modern, double what even pgx charges. P.S. This isn't that weird European grading service either, looked it up its a completely new one, launched like sometime this year.
  9. Allright. Got it, its useful, but should be taken lightly.
  10. Did you read my post? I never said you "need" the census. I said it is a "useful tool." I know a thing or two about comics. (aquaman...cough cough) Maybe not as much as you. I'm only refuting people's comments that the census isn't useful. My point is completely valid. Its a useful tool for comparison and to judge the commonality of a book compared to others. If you disagree with that statement, I'd love to here an actual response or retort.
  11. The census doesn't give population yes. But it can be known that if there are a ton of copies graded on the census, said book is even more so common. Maybe the census can't gage rarity, but it sure can gage how common a book is.
  12. What's untrue about it? Is the census not useful to compare books of equal importance? Even if there are x times many more copies, the ratio should stay pretty consistent if the books are equal in importance.
  13. Okay so furthering my point I underestimated the #copies of ASM 300, so it's even more common than I thought. Thank you. Still think its overpriced.
  14. That's just my estimate of how many copies there are. I guess I could be wrong on the exact number of copies. I'm confused are you just looking for things to say, "actually" to? 😕
  15. Well it was actually pretty accurate all the way thru, it is a useful tool to compare to other books of equal importance.
  16. First SA Superman or current version is the first Superboy, although those differences are way more minor than Aquaman. Differences between SA and GA superman are just when he started fighting crime one as a boy the other as a man. The differences ae still not as great as GA v SA aquaman tho.
  17. In this case I would say the census holds about half or more of the supply of 300, regardless the census is useful when comparing to other books and there value. If a key book with 1,000 copies of equal importance is getting $x dollars we can compare that to a book with 18,000 copies going for $y. Its not a useful tool to judge the overall population of a book, but it is to judge a books rarity (if it is a slab worthy key) compared to other comics.
