  1. Interesting. I'm not aware of the acronym GCD. What does it stand for? Regardless here is issue 40...
  2. I loved the fantastical stories from Gardner Fox, and Murphy Anderson's art couldn't be better. Both him and Joe Kubert did a fantastic job with Hawkman. I constantly go back and forth on the best Hawkman artist. Although we did get the best of both worlds in Atom and Hawkman 40-41 with Kubert inked by Anderson. Truly a treat!
  3. Awesome copies. Who doesn't love Hawkman? Completed the run 3-4 years ago, and I'm so grateful to have done it. (no pics of MIS group)
  4. I'm quite certain one of the reasons I grew so fond of DC comics is because (other than their being better ) of necessity. I could afford DC. So I bought DC and learned to love it. I was only surrounded by DC books. While I would love for DC books to get the love they deserve someday, right now I'm loving the cheap prices, and my being the only guy in the world who wants the books.
  5. Thanks. There is a 21, no 22 yet though. And yes I have an entire SA Hawkman run, B&B issues and MIS issues included. You just can't beat Joe Kubert and Murphy Anderson (Infantino comes close tho Flash fans) Some of my favorites. (sorry I don't mean to undermine the FLASH thread)
  6. Here's my copy of 129. Nothing special, about a 3.5. Though I'm not really a huge Flash collector, I mainly collect SA DC, so maybe I'll take a stab at the run someday. I just own 129 for the first SA appearance of the JSA (along with all respective GA characters) in flashback. 2nd GA Flash in SA as well. But most important for me, first SA appearance of the GA Hawkman. You'll see me next on page 137 for the 2nd SA appearance of the JSA.
  7. Please NO! Nick Cardy and Gardner Fox may have produced some lame SA stories, but Cardy had some great art. Have you read any of the Skeates and Aparo SA books?
  8. 1. X-men (never liked the team, I dunno, or the art) 2. Black Panther (he's okay I guess) 2. Eternals (Movie hype is ridiculous, especially considering they're just Marvel's New Gods) 4. Ant-Man (literally just the Atom released several months after Atoms first app.) 5. Captain Marvel (gimme old school Captain Marvel (Shazam), heck I'll even take Mar-Vel, just not Carol) You could probably put all marvel characters save Carnage up here before we started listing DC. DC is just better. What can I say?
  9. I think its pretty obvious the comic market just isn't focusing on DC for better or for worse. Case in point: How many New CGC labels were released with DC Characters on 'em?
  10. All I buy is SA DC. SC4, SC22, AC242 & 252 Adventure 247, BB28, WW98, HOS92, are some of the biggest books. DC books aren't selling as much as marvel because there isn't the hype there. But it is also important to keep in mind that generally SA DC books are harder to find and therefore sell less. Books like My Greatest Adventure 80 are more obscure books that have shot up and retained their value mostly because of their rarity. The market for SA DC books is doing fine tho. Books have been slowly creeping up with occasional spikes. I don't anticipate any drops in DC books because like I said they don't have that much support to drop and fall away. The people who are buying DC now would have left to start collecting Marvel years ago or they aren't stoping anytime soon (or they collect both). You don't have non comic-buyers buying SA DC books for "speculation and investments" like they do Marvel. Because of this its a pretty good time to buy DC. The books aren't ridiculous prices and they don't have much value to loose.
  11. I don't know if this has already been brought up, but I haven't seen too large a decrease when it comes to DC SA keys. Marvel books have shot up exponentially since the MCU was started, and I think the hype is simply ending, with Endgame essentially tying the knot. While yes Disney will never let the MCU die, I think the run is mainly over, and therefore books' hype is decreasing along with values. DC books never had that huge spike, and therefore aren't dropping like the Marvel books. Hot things cool down. Cold things just stay cold. 'nuff said.
  12. Mmmm... don't you just love the government?
  13. Here's a look at a similar faded book I have. Just a real nasty extreme fade...
  14. +1 I'll only ever rarely consider upgrading coverless books, but then I get lazy, and don't feel like spending money on the same book. I will often times buy duplicates, but they are usually lower grade copies of the book I already own. Quantity over Quality's my collecting philosophy.
  15. For sure, nowhere am I saying its a guarantee. Just thought it might be worth the risk for anyone trying to make a few bucks.
  16. Very interesting. I could see people picking up PGX 9.6's in hopes to possibly get CGC 9.8's at a fraction of the cost. If this data is representative as whole, there are quite a few money making opportunities to be found.
  17. Finish my Aquaman Vol.1 and Shazam! Vol.1 run, and start a Metamorpho, Spectre, Plastic Man, and JLA run. Still lookin for that cheap coverless B&B 28. Also looking to fill in a early BA HOS run.
  18. It is incomplete. I just don't know if its ever been known for a book to be incomplete due to a manufacturing error.
  19. I see, do you put that on new books you list? I always set my lowest price at 50% of what I'm asking.
  20. Why not just put a minimum offer on your books, so offers to low are immediately declined?
  21. A lot of people forget about Hawkman's MIS run. Here are my copies of the two covers he had in this 4 issue run. MIS 87 is the first Murphy Anderson Hawkman art, and you gotta love it.
  22. Always loved the grey tone cover in issue 44, one of my favorite covers.
