Here's my awesome prize from the super generous frozentundraguy. It was one I had rated in my top five and I can't believe I got the chance to claim it at pick #20! It is my first book from the Golden Age but it definitely won't be my last!
Thanks to you all for making it an awesome event. I'll see you in the next one

having an ED-209 in the storage locker at the time of the crime would have been preventative.
Drop the books! You have ten seconds to comply!
One of those motion sensing sentry guns from the film Aliens would be a better option I think, no talk, straight to business

There’s no way this is an insurance job. The collector was passionate about the books. You don’t collect Batman books for that many years and that quality just to commit a fraud. He could have easily sold them and made likely more than 1.4 mil.
And people do keep valuables in storage lockers and with multiple locks and cameras around you wouldn’t expect this. Maybe the owner travels and owning a home would be a waste so they rent a storage space?
The guys got enough stress and sorrow now I don’t think we as a community should be saying things to make him (her?) feel worse. I would be devastated too.
Fair points. I just can't believe someone would leave books of this calibre in a storage locker! A banks vault yeah maybe, behind a flimsy steel door and a padlock, no way.
I'd be interested to know how long the owner rented that locker and whether or not his was the only locker broken into that day.
Not looking to make him feel worse, I doubt that's even possible if this is for real, just speaking my mind which is very suspicious.

Who in their right mind keeps 1.4m in a storage locker!!? Who knew to target that specific locker?
I think it's an insurance job.

I'll take crown green bowls or curling over cricket any day of the week!

I’ve heard that there’s no sport capable of beating the non-stop excitement of a 5-day test match in cricket.
I think you got excitement confused with euthanasia! Just look at the stands at a cricket game it's like the cast of the walking dead

I always liked the beer bottle in the face maneuver followed by a VERY quick exit.
Using a bottle is a cowards trick. I had the back of my head opened up by some c*** who got me in a headlock and repeatedly smashed the bottom of a beer bottle into the back of my head. I have about five moon shaped scars on the back of my head now because of it. Lost a lot of claret that night, knocked out cold. Surprising how quickly you sober up after something like that and surprising too how so called mates will abandon you to save themselves.

By the way, it is possible that CGC 9.6 New Mutants #98 will move into 1st place by this time next year... it gained 500 last year.
That is what I guessed it would be.
Spawn?! I'm shocked. That book has zero desirability for me, zero. Same goes for NM #98 but I do like buying that cheap and selling for more.

WRC > F1 > NASCAR.
Err...isn't that just UFC.
WRC! Now you're talking! I think I've probably spent months of my life watching WRC, Moto GP, IOMTT, F1, RALLYX and such sports. Skill and tactics are obviously a part of it but it's the size of one's balls that count when we get into motorsports haha

Sports is about scoring. Thats the payoff, the cheering. Few or no scoring-no payoff. Might as well watch people chase each other around.
I'd say it's about skill. Chess is being put forward for the Olympics... How many draws occur in Chess? A LOT! It's skilful and tactical, arguably it is more of a sport than Archery or shooting if you ask me.

World Wildlife Foundation..? They have a sport..? Hunting..?
Soccer is great to play, but it's as boring to watch as golf is.
MLB is hardly a "team" game. 1 guy hitting against a bunch of guys. Boring.
NFL only actually plays about 25% of the clock. Lazy and boring.
NBA has no physicality. They're athletic, but it's easy being cheesy in the breezy. High scores? Boring.
UFC is a couple of losers whaling on each other. Where's the skill? Having no fat? Boring.
Now, the NHL... Where guys are usually in peak human condition, flying around in razor-blade shoes, on a sheet of ice, handling a cylinder of rubber with a stick, destroying one another with huge body checks flying at 30+ MPH, shooting that biscuit 90+ MPH. Rivalries. Goals mean something as they're all valued the same score. The passing. The intelligence. The systems. The freaking game. Goalies making saves with unnatural athleticism. Fights. Improvisational plays. Pavel Datsyuk. That's it. That's hockey. It's all you need.
Ok it's not called WWF anymore and it is not and never was a sport. But you know, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Legion of Doom etc etc. The acronym fit so I used it.
The WWF protects animals not hunts them. Hunters are simple as that!
Golf is not boring to play or watch, and neither is snooker or darts. I'd watch any one of those over Ice Hockey, Basketball, Baseball or American Football.
You yanks have a fascination for dressing up in padded outfits with shoulder pads and helmets and attacking each other. Try Rugby!
Cricket I think we can all agree is terrible

Football too slow paced for me-I like the rapid action of basketball.
If a team parks the bus and it ends up 0-0 it can be boring. But an end to end match where they are both going for it a real pleasure to watch and not slow paced at all. It's not called the beautiful game for nothing!
I quite like basketball and used to play for my school team but there's just hardly any following here in England.

Football (Soccer) > MLB, NFL, NBA, UFC, NHL, WWF, and all other sports combined!
The sweat off my balls > Bob Layton

I'd trust Euro Grader more than I'd trust PGX and I'd trust CBCS over both those. But in the end I'd go for CGC.
CGC is like Ford, CBCS is like VW, Euro Grader err... Skoda maybe and PGX is a bus ticket

Any chance of and updated list with what's left and what's gone? There's a lot of stuff that's US only and I don't want to take a mystery box or anything that looks too heavy to post to England

That is was high on my list...sad to hear it because i just sold mine a week ago!
Yeah the centre wrap is not there. It's very low grade anyway... It was a bonus to the tec 880 foil anyhow, and it still is plus three more with two first appearances. The fatal five in adventure #252 and the rocketeer in statslayer #2

I am a horse hater after playing that game red dead redemption

The HULK stole them! Seriously though, wtf, how has that damage to that door occurred?! And how is a long box or a person getting through that?
I would not dream of storing my comics away from home, especially if were only missing a hundred or so issues for the full run of ASM! Sucks for that guy, hope he gets them back, the thieves and the comics!
