  1. Perhaps you mean the announcement of the end of the show? It won't end until Season 11 is over in Spring 2022. And there has been a steep decline in viewers but they seemed to have righted the ship. Particularly with Fear the Walking Dead which was just total rubbish in Season 5 but incredibly Season 6 would rival TWD in its heyday. The comic created a cultural phenomenon and I don't think that can be understated.
  2. I strongly believe the level off is done. About a year after TWD ended, TWD #1 drifted down in price from about $2,200 to $1,800 or so on a lot of sales. Recently we've seen some recovery up to about the $2,100 range in eBay auctions. This could be attributed to the release of Walking Dead Deluxe and new buyers. I don't see a "massive level off" coming if you mean a crash in prices. It may be a while before this book increases in value but the franchise is huge and I'm sure has a strong future in films, etc. to support the price. A companion story is always a possibility as well.
  3. OK, I'll readily admit I don't know anything at all about these Golden Age books, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how pages like this could eventually get a book graded an 8.0. If I had to guess I would be thinking .5 to 2.0. Someone really worked some magic here!! Do you have pics as it went through the restoration?
  4. And thanks @StephenWA for your TWD rarities post because I knew this 1:100 was one of the lower ones but very pleased to find out it is likely the 6th rarest production TWD book! That thread is a great resource!!
  5. OK this is pretty cool. I did not get a red foil in my 2 mystery boxes. But I did get one 15th Anniversary blind bag in each. The first was a 92 First Jesus BW Virgin cover 92D. The second was this!!!!! It’s low NM due to a big dent and some color breaks in the spine but still Uber Cool. Thanks @bigclutch and the peeps at Skybound!! Totally random (who could know what is in those bags) but just shows these Mystery Boxes are a lot of fun! And the assortment of stuff inside is just awesome!
  6. Picked up 2 Mystery Boxes. Looking forward to the contents and (cross finders) a red foil in there!
  7. Happy Thanksgiving to all my Walking Dead buddies!!! Have a great day 🦃😊
  8. Well I didn’t get lucky this time with a 9.9 but still super stoked to get this rare TWD Deluxe variant!!! TWD display books in the background.
  9. Thank goodness you used CGC. It this was an item with say a COA and maybe "light authentication" like JSA, the value would tank. I think you are safe with CGC Signature Series, especially with another book like that out there.
  10. Welcome Oliver! Awesome TWD experiences!! I was a late collector but really enjoyed it once I got started. Glad to help with any collecting questions! And TWD Deluxe is a great way to get started. I'm really liking the color and the extras each issue.
  11. You are a walking advertisement for the Skybound Mystery Boxes!!! Congrats buddy. Very happy for you! :-)
  12. Oh man... not going to get upset about the chance for a sweet upgrade to 9.9! Hope I get lucky 😊
  13. Got one!! Thanks Brian for the heads-up. I skipped out of a work meeting to join 😜. Totally stoked to get the book and if it’s upgraded to 9.9... wow!!!
  14. Oh it will crash all right. With over 1,000 available? $2K "feels" about the right place for this book to be. Comparing to Walking Dead #1 9.8 with 1,074 graded, despite softness in that franchise that book has help strong at about $2K.
  15. I’m tracking a TWD 1 9.9 and trying to see if it is an existing book or a freshly graded one. I know how many were in the census... its been very consistent for a few years.
  16. Well you are right. Some of the lowest ratings out there
  17. And popularity. TWD 1 9.8 is a $1.8K-$2.0K book. Two of the 21 9.9s sold in the past 60 days for $12K and $15K each. Hard to put a generic rule here.
  18. I will add this. FTWD absolutely sucked last season. A villian who cannot find oil in Texas (I live here... it’s literally everywhere) and a campy lady on a horse. I was done. But I was curious enough about Morgan to watch S6 Ep1. Amazing and one of the best single episodes ever on any TWD show. A Lennie James acting master class. Feel free to ditch Fear but this single episode is going to stand up to time.
  19. Well let me educate you about Mass Media. This has zero bearing on what you think about the show. If it sucks... no one watches. If no one watches, you can't sell advertising space. No ad space, no money. It's pretty simple really. I'm guessing you are a middle-aged male watching a show clearly targeted to Girls Age 16 to 24. I imagine you had the same reaction to the Twilight Series and Vampire Diaries. Yeah I don't watch those either (my wife does and I totally tune out) because they are not marketed to me. Talking Dead following TWD and World Beyond had 12 advertisements in each commercial set, most 30 seconds but some 15 seconds. The only reason there are that many ads is because, like a live sporting event, people watch. Otherwise that valuable Sunday night 10:00pm spot would go to something more popular. Number of Households with watchers in the most sought demographic Ages 18 to 49. Simple. I won't argue your critique. What I will say is that the Market speaks. Whether that is teenie bopper ZA shows, 8 years of a color reprints of TWD or otherwise. People can vote with their wallets and time in front of the TV, and apparently people still like TWD.
  20. OK, OK, I did it!! I take full and total responsibility for the recent hurricanes, forest fires, Justin Bieber's haircut and especially... anything said by the current US President. How's that for stepping up!!! I'm partnering with Todd McFarlane on my line of merch right now #GoBlameTom
  21. Hey there is plenty of WD fun left to come!! Eh the virtual SDCC saved me a plane ticket and hotel money so... more money for comics!!!
