  1. Double fantastic. Drop out the awful Daryl/Carol episodes and the 4 left were all interesting. Yeah Lucille's Half Moon shirt was cool. She was also in the clothes from when Negan left, implying she gave up that very day. Brutal. And damn, what an acting powerhouse couple. I want one more Negan backstory - how the Saviors came to be and end it when Negan is standing in front of Abe taking a swing... then fade to black. I'll take that one episode over 30 of the Daryl/Carol spinoff any day.
  2. Well someone reacted to this old post so how about an update? I am 5 books away from completing TWD 1-50 with 2xSS+ In 9.8. At minimum it is Kirkman and either Moore or Adlard. Sometimes all 3, sometimes with sketches. 4 of those 5 books have Kirkman’s sig so just need a con with one of the artists. Almost there. Nearly 4 years work!!
  3. That's a really good point. To pry my 1-48 100% Sig Series out of my hands would take a substantial above-market offer. Pulling this off would require exceptional timing with someone considering selling. Who knows, with all the disruption from covid perhaps someone is in need of cash. The other challenge is I'm really rare stopping at 48 (and holding to that religiously). I think what you would find is someone with the entire run, and getting them to let loose of 1-50 and keeping 51 to 193 (or 100 to 193) would be very unlikely so my expectation is you would need to buy them out completely. Good Luck!!!
  4. No way you can call a 9.9. Not possible. Its a gift grade.
  5. OK rub it in that you are staring at the rare red foils 🙄😂
  6. I think you are getting a bit colorblind there, old man 😜
  7. I was not sure if I would watch but after the ratings and the hype, I'll give it a shot. I'm not really an animated show guy but I'll put those reservations aside.
  8. I'm looking forward to this! But still I'm resisting getting pulled into traditional superhero books. Good luck with that @Crops068 😂
  9. Here is where coins are very different. Part of the grade is attributed to the appearance of the coin. It won't lower a technical grade but it could bump it up. As a result, any collector worth his or her salt would always seriously inspect the coin and not grade by the number. I would say of all the coins I bought from dealers, I returned 1/3 to 1/2 even after looking at the pictures. Higher resolution scans and things like tilting videos that are prevalent now I'm sure would reduce that quite a bit. But I was very picky with my spending to only acquire the very best. It seems CGC graded comic buyers far more frequently just buy to the grading number without a second thought.
  10. Sure - click on this link and it will take you to the Registry set for Walking Dead 1-48. Set Type Detail Page (collectors-society.com) Then click on the set and see if they have books you would be interested in buying. You can then send a note to the owner. I expect it will be tough sledding but you might get lucky with someone ready to sell. I put up a WTB post for the TWD Hero Initiative books not expecting much, but I've acquired 2 that way. Persistence pays off 😊.
  11. OK, I'll keep an eye out. Might want to send notes to Registry participants in the TWD 1-48 set, see if anyone there is interested in selling.
  12. When you say 9.8 run, are you talking about 1 to 48, 1 to 193 or all 669 books in the full TWD with variants?
  13. My pleasure!! It was fun working out a trade and our road trip to Bat City comics here in Austin. That place was awesome.
  14. So you are only collecting TWD for Investment? Seems a huge gamble but OK. Personally I love the story and the early covers. Some thoughts... I think the first arc 1-6 will go up in value with TWD keys. Issue 1 to 24 has all the Tony Moore covers. Since Tony was a dedicated cover artist, many of the best covers ever are in this run. I decided to collect 1-48 which is through the Governor's arc. This is so iconic there is a popular registry set just for 1-48. As far as first appearances, only 19 I think will hold, possibly 27 and 53. All the ones after 100 are certainly not investment grade.
  15. There was a Walking Dead Magazine? 😬😂. I started collecting TWD in 2017 and never knew there was a magazine format. Might go check it out if I can get them cheap on eBay. When was it published?
  16. OK going with the strategy to do this on the cheap. I pretty inexpensively built back to #20, omitting 27. Short runs show up pretty frequently. I have the 4 Compendiums for reading, they are only $25 or so a piece on eBay. I use these to grab panel pics for various purposes. I think @Crops068 has a pretty good idea. In the past I may have recommended TWD Weekly for 1-20 but TWD Deluxe will be available and at cover price or close. You can even collect Cover B, which is the original TWD cover but recolored by artist Dave McCaig. And it would be fun to build this over time and you won't have a Lorena Bobbitt situation at home 😬.
  17. I'm gonna crack one of my 9.8s, slap a price sticker from Wal Mart on there, sub it and see what happens.
  18. Walking Dead 19.... #2 Key First Appearance (Michonne), arguably the best TWD cover and on a nice upward price trend. $500 should get you a 9.8.
