I feel like if this has the same momentum at Issue 50, the current values of 1-10 will be higher. I only care about the A covers. But what absolutely baffles me is the insane number of variants, limited this, limited that. I can see those crashing a lot. And I'm with @Wolverinex, I think those Issue 1 Frison covers are an absolute steal at about $300 each. I think buying 10 for $3K could someday be a big payday. -

Would love to see that too, but Kirkman has been pretty firm that was a one and done. But in the spirit of that, with so many great potential stories, why aren't we going deep with someone? If the TV show can spin off two shows like Fear the Walking Dead and TWD: World Beyond, plus all those video games, how can there not be room for more comics? I'm pretty baffled because even if Kirkman is not out for money anymore, shouldn't he want to do it for the fans? I don't get it. -

And I thought the Cutting Room Floor was just fantastic in TWDD Issue 27. RK had 2 different -script outlines going, and took 2 pages of small font to explain it all. Best one so far and super interesting. It was cool to see the detail he added to the first panel intro of the Governor and how it translated to the page. -

It's not comics, but for TWD Universe fans, this came out 2 days ago on November 16. Looks like "Art" is related to the TV series but I think it will be pretty interesting. https://thewalkingdeadshop.amc.com/products/the-walking-dead-the-art-of-amcs-the-walking-dead-universe-standard-edition-book -

Yes and no. Inside of book yes. The one you keep linking has a limited edition slip cover with the mask on it. The one I'm linking is the same book without the limited slip cover. Make sense? -

I'm a huge Walking Dead fan so this is right up my alley. I discovered the book at Issue 12 and bought TPB #1 but unfortunately didn't latch onto the single issues until recently. I can see why there is so much optimism for this book and the art is a perfect style to establish the mood and Erica's attitude. Regarding the covers, I consider Cover A to be the official version and I believe many other collectors do as well. I don't have any TWD early issue 2nd prints - I don't care. Like Brian, I'll collect the Mains and spot pick up variants that really speak to me. I do agree with the crowd here tho... that Issue 1 Frison variant is a stunner. And as much as I appreciate completists (good luck with this one), I consider my collection complete with Main covers. -
Went to my LCS to pick up my books and was told Image's entire print run had some issues and all books were pushed to next week. Does anyone have the scoop?

Baller!!! I originally intended to sell my Black Label (Universal) when I got my 2xSS which was a White Label but I held onto it. I got the Black label signed by Kirkman as well at SDCC 2019. Man, can't believe you picked up a TWD 1 that went 9.8 in a 100 book lot! 😂 -

Great stories! You really got into the inner circle there. I imagine these celebs can't go out into a public place and hang out like that anymore (even without covid) or they would get crushed with fans. There was once a Facebook fan page with over 300,000 members - huge fan base. -

Man that is so cool. Andrew Lincoln looks so young! Did you shoot near Atlanta? Did you fly in for that or live nearby? Those zombie special effects have come so far, you look like a serial killer in a horror film 😂🤣 -

My wife was also massively hooked, and even enjoyed the early part of Negan's appearance. Be second half of Season 7 and Season 8 trudged along with those horrible character episode. I stuck with it (and lead a Facebook fan page for Walking Dead) but she bailed out. It got better again in Season 10, but by then they had lost 80% of the audience they had at the peak. They really had something special Season 1 to 5. -

Congrats on getting into Issue 27, it's a landmark! And thanks for the clarification, I was really confused with the food reference 😂. The letters back in TWD 1-25 were super edgy, Kirkman was in his mid-20's and he probably was scraping by to pay food and rent and now he is worth umpteen millions of $. I honestly wish letters like these could get published but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore. You actually used my formula pretty well with the numbered questions - just amped up the irreverent tone (a lot!). Since they are reprinting all of the original letters in TWDD, I'll look forward to seeing these in print again over the next few months. -

Yeah I've got the formula down. I also work in the marketing field and know the value of a good hook. I've submitted 8 letters and been published 6 times. The two I missed I know what I did wrong, sort of venturing into previously discussed dead topics. If you want in, here's the winning formula: Snappy intro - keep it fun, short and complimentary Something unique about the issue - short paragraph / setup Ask 3-4 questions and number them. I've seen as many as 6-7 but I think it's overkill. Let others have some space in the letters column. Make one totally fun (I was published in TWDD 19 asking if Kirkman had ever written a -script drunk, and if do, did he revise it the next day or let it fly 😂. I thought the answer could be hilarious but alas, he said he has never been drunk 😕) Make the other 2-3 questions things that other fans would really want to know. It's OK to be irreverent / challenging but don't be a complete jerk. Closing - keep it short (see you at an upcoming con / maybe a plug for your LCS. I did this in TWDD19 and they were insanely excited. So spread the love.) Do that right and I expect you have a 75% or better chance of getting published, which is my hit rate. -

Oh man those "I met this girl at the gym and she came back to my house" letters were priceless and total BS I'm sure 99% of the time. 😂🤣
