  1. I don’t think it’s set in on how low the census is on this early issue of FF. Mid grade copies are few and far between the ceiling has not come even close for this one as it’s a huge character yet to see his day on the big screen . Anything early grab now especially mid grade copies Submariner 1 from 1968 which are still priced well. Huge price corrections coming on this one
  2. How about this one ? It’s second appearance of Dr Doom and Namor the Submariner ( both FF 4&5 are so outrageous in price now ) and it’s first Marvel villain team up. A classic Kirby cover imo this one has room to grow . Thoughts? Fantastic Four 6
  3. I agree with you but those issues from late 80s and 90s are way more plentiful so I’m not sure that hikes will affect low grades but who knows . I haven’t completely accepted how big this comic thing has become . I’ve been a part of it my whole life and now mainstream publicity has brought this thing to all time highs . Very cool to watch .
  4. The issue I see with old school collectors of gold, silver and bronze is they don’t see how the new blood coming in direct relate only to these mass produced late 80s early 90s stuff. These boomers are driving the market there and let’s be serious it’s becoming very difficult to buy from any period now . CGC 9.8s have exploded for keys and silver , bronze keys are way out of reach for most . The big concern moving forward is this , if nobody can afford the market then what becomes of the market ? Collectors need to collect and will move on is my fear if priced out and we are at that tipping point now . Just an observation . I have a short list of books I want and I’m so far away from obtaining them that this may be it for me . Week after week more price hikes . It’s something I can say I’ve never seen before . For the record I’m not saying crash but not sure how this works moving forward.
  5. I think the high grades 9.6-9.8 are keepers and those grades are plentiful . I’d cash out if you’re not attached to them .
  6. Angel does incredible work and he never cuts corners on his commissions . Super great guy . I enjoy my Spiderman pieces everyday from him . Congrats
  7. A 9.6 sold in auction for 1625.00 US so not sure how to gauge the 9.8. Very hard to come by who knows what someone might pay I’m thinking not quite 6K. Not yet
  8. Boom.....Go collect has not had sale of this one in years and puts a big value on it . Thoughts ? This one below is on eBay as we speak
  9. These prices don’t make sense to me especially the Adventures book????? I have to ask what is going on there ?
  10. One of my most wanted comics being a life long Subby fan and without a doubt in my mind the first app of Namor. Some may not care that’s cool .
  11. I’m pretty sure Peter said he’s done with that . Never say never but it may be a long wait
  12. I agree on desirability and when I say handcuff I get offered overstreet guide value for some of the late 40s books which to me is nuts as overstreet imo is an obsolete tool. Prices don’t reflect market . These don’t come up often so even referring to GPA I don’t think I get fair market offers it’s based off an old sale or nothing at all . WW2 covers I can’t afford to collect but I put some effort in Subbys because I’m close to a complete run . I don’t think that happens everyday as some of these books took a while to find and sooooo much luck at times. I def want to see what happens if he joins MCU and how that will change interest in all his comics . Maybe it has positive effect on some post WW2 stuff
  13. Noted . I knew this about the Subbys and I always dreamed of completing them as it’s more rewarding . The problem I have is price point . The AF 15 has climbed to almost unattainable levels even in 2-2.5 . I’ve been outbid on almost every Submariner timely since December so the market and money has def shifted leaving me with what I have and no means to buy at the moment . Chances are I’ll hold Submariners but I’m still trying to understand how certain collectors down play issues after 1945 .
  14. Weird question but an honest one . Are non WW2 covers that much more undesirable than its counterpart even if the book may be rarer . I’ve been debating lately if I should break my submariner run up to buy a big silver key like AF15 but have held off because I know I’d never get the books again . most people I talk to try and handcuff me in that they always use non WW2 cover as less desirable and think it should come with big price drops???? Any thoughts or advice ? Currently I have 14-42 of the Subby run and all the books are cgc blue in various grades
  15. Why? How many copies of the second exist out there ? I’m constantly hearing how out of 3000 first prints only 1/3 have been “found “ graded so according to that the second print in high grade is tougher book . Those are stats I have from go collect and cgc . That’s all
  16. Look at the census numbers please . The second print is way rarer with next to nothing graded compared to 1st prints
  17. Hey I love the book . I love the turtles I love the turtles I’ll wait to see where the dust settles . As for the Nintendo and Pokémon I don’t know much of that .
  18. According to that theory in 20 years time the kids that grew up with miles morales will want his books and Tmnt will be new Roy Rogers ? What’s your point ? It’s Tmnt time now ? 40 years in I hope so but 100K for 9.8 or other high grades in the price points they are fetching is pretty nuts . Why haven’t issues 2-4 followed ? Early TMNT and important imo . The generation that grew up Tmnt I’d love to meet people 40 or under paying 60K and up for top tier grades . It’s laughable .
