Great copy and lots of room to grow

It’s irrelevant wether you care or not . Comic books have changed . Pop culture has changed . We are no longer geeks collecting and sharing our hobby with nerds underground . This is full blown modern Americana pop culture . in 2008 I remember very clearly where the hobby was . I looked up at my LCS shop wall: AF 15 CGC 4.0 blue 4000.00 Canadian Fantastic Four 4 6.0 blue 640.00 Fantastic Four 5 8.0 blue 800.00 submariner 2 Timely cgc 2.5 blue 250.00 Avengers 1 cgc 5.0 2000.00 to name just a few . I left that day buying two off that list . What changed ? I thought those prices were extremely high and out of my range . Well in 2008 the MCU began and single handed changed the game exposing Comicdom to billions . why are we shocked? We haven’t seen anything yet

Wouldn’t bank on it staying there . Auctions will always allow some to slip through .

Today’s comix buyers of these high tier books are investors no doubt looking to park cash in collectables . This market has turned upside down in its head and prices are just steam rolling upwards. No kids today or average worker can pay these premiums . ASM 238,298-301,316 TMNT 1s Albedo 2s X Books the list goes on and in top grade you’re priced out it’s that simple

I’ve been saying it for months . The TMNT sale that started this a madness was the big 9.8 ......now it’s unstoppable . Not sure what to make out of it but it’s happening all over the place as well

If value is a measure of desirability then the Canadian copies at least in 9.8 dwarf the US versions

Canadian issues only had bar codes at bottom left and all contained tattoos. They has skinny price bar noting 0.75 cents

Incredible rarity. Canadian variants only made up 10% of total printed run and of that 1% went to newsstands. Essentially same comic but 100 times scarcer for every one US version . To find a CGC 9.8 Canadian is tough hence the last sale hitting 7500.00 US for blue label 9.8. The minute kids found out something was inserted into a comic that sat on shelf it was torn out or the comic mangled . imo it’s the copy to get with huge upsides and a bronze/copper grail. Other Canadian price variants to chase although very tough to find as well GI JOE 21 ( first storm shadow ) ASM 252 Swamp Thing ( first Constantine ) Uber impossible in 9.8

I’d be waiting to grade this if it were mine . Three books that just routinely get killed on grading because of sheer volume being submitted ASM 238 , 300 Ultimate Fallout 4 Id wait until it cools and get an honest grade . I think in peak season they are way tougher on these issues

Is the GPA updated automatically instantly ? Or does it take some time to appear because go collect is way behind in their assessed grade values

What’s to stop a group of people investing in that book . It’s happened before buy shares and allows seller to get bigger money. It may another strategy for him

He was serious . I kinda was rude to him on his asking price and where the logic was there he responded stating he had been offered 200K. So why not take that outrageous amount

I agree don’t forget the elusive first app of Constantine in Swamp Thing. That’s near impossible to find in nm+.

He said he’s been offered 200K . This guy is a bone head and liar . I’d never pay that money for this book because there are enough of them out there . The meteoric rise and mass dumping of first prints doesn’t look good and the book imo. Every week a new first printing is listed clearly owners are cashing in I can’t blame them .

If I had the money I’d buy extra copies of edge of Spiderverse 2. With all the attention on UF4 it’s bound to follow and show some returns .

The 9.8 just passed Batgirl Adventures 12 cgc 9.8 in price it has to be the champ at this point and another UF4 9.8 is ending on eBay the price on that one is 3000.00 US with 49 minutes left in bidding
