  1. Phoenix Force Namor artwork by Jae Lee and colour by his wife June Cheung 11 x 17” custom Phoenix Force Namor Statue
  2. I know there are only around 14 graded 9.8s so it’s pretty rare in that grade . This one has a lot of room for growth imo . It’s a nice looking cover in the red and wraparound . Nice pick up
  3. That’s one of the holy grails of comics and most likely would never be sold publicly here . That usually would be sold in auction like heritage or comic link . You do know how valuable this comic is correct? In any condition
  4. Not sure if this question has been asked but if you have a golden age book with tape on it that does not look like old tape , is that considered restoration by CGC?
  5. Great write up , I’m one who just enjoys the art and try not to worry .
  6. I’m confident in my framing . Sucks that happened but that’s a whole lot of terrible fade there if they were same colour . Not sure what to make of that . That marker on bottom looks a lot blacker than actual graphic . Like I said I have a 50 year old piece that hasn’t faded that bad ????
  7. Museum grade blocks out 98% of UV on oil , marker , ink whatever is used really .I have a Bill Everett sketch from 1970 done in the day of primitive marker and paper quality and it’s holding up very well 50 years later! I also use acid free matte so I’m not too concerned because if it’s good enough for art galleries it’s good enough for me . You will pay higher amounts for these materials and obviously don’t display in direct sunlight
  8. Protect the image from UV light with best UV glass offered . That’s what I do . Zero worries for me .
  9. You and me both . I can’t even win low grade books prices are surging
  10. My first Timm piece . It’s one that has not been seen since around 2008. One his best Namor renders imo , I’m still hunting the full colour version as it’s a huge want for me being a fan of the character . Huge thanks to my friend on CAF Kent for helping me land this. He unselfishly passed it to me knowing how hard I was trying to land a Namor ( I think he got tired of all messages I sent wanting to buy his Namor Vs Iron Man Timm lol. Thanks a bunch
  11. I haven’t had any luck on the few eBay auctions that just passed on some golden Subbys . It seems every book coming to market is getting scooped up . Some not cheap! Is it me or is demand started to amp up? A few months ago I noticed books lingering around Clink and eBay now they are ghosts???
  12. Great advice and most artists I’ve worked with are very good. Notable ones that wouldn’t consider doing a character I want is Adi Granov, Bruce Timm and even Jim Lee does not allow any input into the art which is fine he tends to do your character at least
  13. Totally agree with this. Only a few finite examples exist of these offshoot B,C and D listers. Makes it competitive for pieces
  14. His pieces are super expensive for the size no offence that’s fine at least let customer choose their character. I work hard for my money it’s my right to buy or choose what I please . Some can argue it’s his right to turn you down but I’m leaning to the spender having more say here .
  15. I’ve been trying for couple years now to get Bruce to draw or get a commission from him of Namor . Very very hard to do as he rarely draws what you want . I borderline harassed his art rep Albert Moy and learned that Al has zero say in Timms choice or art. I won’t give up on getting that special colour piece from him . Being in Canada complicates things even more .....
  16. Love those Usagi pieces , I met Stan last summer and bought a sketch from him :
  17. Well that’s why the full colour pieces are so sought after . No messing around there
  18. If you can get one in colour and character approved ( that’s not always a guarantee either )1800- 2500 US . He only does select shows and I believe 5 per show if it’s a multi day event . His head sketches are much less I’m after the colour 8 x 11”.
  19. Great art work here . I’d kill for that Namor piece I posted but even getting a personal commission has been difficult . I know last year Albert offered me a spot I had already spent too much a month Earlier for a Jim Lee piece . Couldn’t swing both financially , I’m starting to regret that as wait lists and cost is up every year making it harder to score art
