  1. I bought this a few years back someone answered an ad I had on these boards. I’m not sure if I over paid or not I just wanted a piece by Everett to hang on my wall as a fan of the character . His pages are very expensive more than I can afford and this piece has such a great golden age feel which is not easy to find . The original owner was looking for Submariner 1 Timely so this was to help generate the funds he needed . I feel blessed to have it !
  2. Very cool !!! I love collecting Namor the Sub-Mariner and quite a bit of knowledge on his collectable cards myself . This shoukd be a great thread and tool for people to add to.
  3. This is a sketch I own and Namor def has and should always have pointed ears . His creator said so !
  4. Well it’s one of the most sought after pages he ever did and would cost a fortune I know that much . Good luck I’m sure this is locked away tight for a long time
  5. Oh my I remember this image and those books I loved them so much . I believe I still have my “ Out of the Pit “ monster manual . Fantastic piece . Brings me back.
  6. What a book !!! I’d take any copy of this issue at this point as long as cover was in tact
  7. TBH my dream was to finish the run . Last year I had my first child and I was missing 10 issues . Almost all of which were in first 10 issues of the run . I did some simple math and figured I was at least 60-70K USD away from securing the grades I needed to finish and prices just kept climbing . I couldn’t do it it anymore . The means of getting the books was not there so I decided to cash out . The AF15 actually was acquired a month after the birth of my child . It was a huge trade where I off loaded a lot of CGC 9.8 copper and modern age books . Timing was everything I managed to get it done before the hammer hit on the big 9.6 auction . I’m leaving that one to my little guy in hopes that 30 years from now he will reap the benefits from it .
  8. Couple of my old Subbys nice to see they are in a new home . I sold my 32 issue run not long ago to Big B Comics in Ontario Canada most ended up on eBay . Issue 26,28 def were mine . I had lower grade 29 in my PC.
  9. Take my advice get your money back although I’m not sure how . PayPal will not cover you after a year if you paid visa you may have passed the timeframe on that coverage . This seller will not get you the books you purchased . Trust me
  10. It has gone up considerably as the other printings are getting out of reach . The ultra high grade 3rd prints have disappeared it’s a lot 6.0-9.2 range for sale now .
  11. Absolute scum bags . They don’t care what you can do post their name and info on google so Internet forums once it gets on worldwide web it’s not coming down. Make sure you have a legit concern or scam being done to you …. If you have waited a year you’re done as this seller offer pre sale cgc 9.8 because there is no way to get PayPal protection for the time it takes to get books graded or signed graded etc etc. that’s the scam . Once the protection timeframe passes they disappear . They will do whatever they can to get you to wait 180 days by promises or lies after that you’re toast . Anyone reading this under 180 day protection period from PayPal file item not received and watch how fast you’re refunded as they can’t afford to have their accounts frozen .
  12. Collectables are not assets and never were . I can’t take my comics to the bank as use them to secure loans . That’s where newcomers and those with no experience in this hobby need to be weary . We are not talking about golden age growls where there are under 50 copies in existence so park your money where you like but the fact these markets took off during Covid when most of the world was being locked down not working seemed very odd to me . my two cents anyways
  13. Try selling them for the premium …. All Marvel is down , golden age is obviously rarer
  14. It’s undeniable prices are way lower in comics and cards and whatever else is not a real investment . Beg to differ all you want prices are down huge
  15. Maybe for the first print a third print 9.8 just netted 8K.
  16. I think all collectables will take a beating now I’m glad I sold when I did ( not Tmnt but in general ). The world is a very unstable place and the economy in North America a steaming pile of dung. Money won’t stay parked in collectables if other tangible assets are plummeting . Hope you can get some good money but those crazy highs are long gone .
  17. Couple back from CGC not impressed they detached my cover on FF6 which was attached when it was sent . Nice looking copy . They are brutal with their handling of comics and wait times .
  18. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this unusual circumstance. Ive sent the last dozen or so books to CCS for cleaning and pressing . Side note I’m yet to receive any grade bump all grades on reholdered presses etc have come back same . Anyways this particular book Fantastic Four 6 was raw . Never graded cleaned or pressed . It was in tact and I visually graded this at 4-5.0. I just got notice it received a universal 3.0 with detached cover notice . This comic was 100% in tact and not detached I’m very bummed out about this . I feel like the damage was done at CCS or CGC not sure what can be done now. Anyone have anything they can share . I’ll post picture of raw . Graded book is on its way .
  19. Just dropped my AF15 in old slab at my LCS. The owners copy is beside mine both are headed to CGC for reholderimg and custom labels . Look good for 1.5s. We figured it would be a cool photograph to have both matching copies side by side.
