  1. The only reason they have as much value is because 99% of them were recycled for the war effort. If the POP was larger the price would be lower . Regardless the point was if this had happened to AF15 there wouldn’t be a conversation about this. It’s still out selling all the others no matter what comes to market including single pages . As a whole the popularity and demand is huge. Golden age has demand but you need back door to even get a sniff of one of those books. Not for me thanks
  2. It’s because of cost and those who have them only sell to small circle of collectors . That’s BS. You can score AF15 1.0 for 25K+ peanuts right? For average person that’s ludicrous . Some of these statements to me defy logic . That’s a new car paid in cash for a beater . Is that really opportunity . If AF15 existed during WW2 they went on paper confiscation trip destroying all the comics with it where would AF15 be?
  3. Common with under 3000 copies? You can’t compare relics from 30/40s . Early SA from 1962 are not common . I seldom if ever see any for sale in shops anymore I live greater Toronto area and I may be in minority but in 2008 I could have bought 4.0 blue for 4000.00 Canadian . It’s going to happen
  4. Why are my statements ridiculous but you’re God here? The book pulled back for what a year and then exploded . I’m sorry but there are different driving forces today for comics than slow turtle paced growth of the past . It’s a new era for collecting you can catch up or keep your comments to yourself . Accountability like what ? Seriously what would do ? Zero ! I have my own opinion
  5. Not for long . Let’s be serious 0.5 blue label is 20K I’d say AF 15 ship has sailed . The other books have no doubt rarity and value their historical importance is rock solid but for me Spiderman has transcended generations adding to his lore and will continue to do so . This book will see huge growth like never before as for getting one any time you want sure you can it’s only the cost of a new car!!! Im positive 99% of Americans can’t afford AF15 in any grade ! sidenote I’m a huge submariner fan if aunt Gertrude left me that money I’d pass on Marvel Comics 1 go for his true first app in Motion Pictures Funnies Weekly 1 and Captain America I could care less to own the book or character . 😎
  6. Captain America 1 , Marvel Comics 1 and many other golden age relics most people could care less about . It’s a small group of investors and collectors that never allow anyone else to get them . They contain important events I really don’t believe they hold a flame in the wind when comparing the staying power of Spiderman . They are valuable and rare but to me Spiderman is the best comic created hero ever made . thanks
  7. We will see . High grade books are over million and Spiderman dwarfs the other two in popularity . No questions asked . He’s the most popular and most collected . All grade will be at astronomical levels in decades time . The only reason the other two have an edge is their age . If Spiderman came out in 30s there is no discussion . Peace
  8. I was just visiting a overstreet advisor today in Canada and we talked about AF15 his thoughts as well as mine were this book in the next decade becomes a 100K in low grade . It’s def going to be top three with action 1 , tech 27 being first and second .
  9. What spec was needed for the biggest character in the world? It def helps the cause when billions of people watched a great animated movie this latest instalment live action and I’ll go out on limb and say the next animated flick will be outstanding . Up up and away as they say $$$$$$$$$$$. What’s driving this book is the character and supporting heroes and villains are the best ever made !
  10. Low grade copies are worth more as a whole comic but an incomplete copy missing pages to begin with that may get chopped. I have a 1.5 I love and I wouldn’t ever consider doing that to mine
  11. I think the market on AF15 is just getting warmed up . Low grade completes I think in near future are going to mind blow collectors at where the values go . Many non comic collectors aka card gurus are noticing low number counts for comics and investors are coming in hard . That’s only explanation I have for pages selling for this amount ….
  12. If I had AF15 I’d never trade for 181. No offence the Spiderman character is more popular , it’s better book investing wise as 181 is too abundant . I don’t want to come across abrasive I just wouldn’t someone else might low grade 0.5 universal is now around 18K 1.0-1.8 anywhere from 30-38K depending on how nice they look
  13. Bill Everett covers are pretty rare and few and far between in the entire run . Most timely hero books are getting very expensive
  14. My other big book was acquired three days before the end of that record breaking auction . Timing was everything but most important it was only short time after the birth of my first child I forever linked this book with him and will pass it on for him to enjoy many more years . Low grade but I’ll take it . A grail comic for me . AF 15 cgc 1.5 Universal
  15. Well that answers my earlier question of where the lower grades are going . Up up and away . As for a “ bad “ copy this may be someone’s grail as prices for even 1.5 are over 30K. It’s a little harsh to comment like that because not everyone is rich.
  16. Love all these big number sales . It’s going to drive up the lower grades no doubt and that’s fun for all the collectors that have those .
  17. Happy my third print finally got to me . Looks great with other early issues.
  18. Where do we see 1.5 , 1.8, 2.0, 2.5s? These grades interest me simply as the most “attainable” copies out there . How does cover appeal play into low end copies against each other in price ? Thanks
  19. These prices just keep climbing . I’m blown away but not surprised . As most other SA books went bananas AF15 didn’t see that jump immediately. It will level off and possibly drop but my gut feeling is it’s too important of a comic and hero to deny to a huge and hungry collector world. Everyone wants this comic , let’s not BS!
  20. I’d kill for a copy in this grade . It’s such a tough book to find . I’m from Canada and these are ghosts in 9.6-9.8
  21. Except the part where Spiderman is the biggest character in comics and always will have staying power the turtle book two years ago in 9.0 was 5K. It went up abnormally as did many others we don’t know what the fallout is going to be just yet . It’s a cool book but I don’t see turtles popularity today as I did when I was kid in 80s and early 90s. That success is long gone . Is rarity dictating price? Not sure . It’s a cool book I just have hard time seeing you compare them to Spiderman who’s is the absolute top of the mountain when it comes to comics and always will be .
