    Most manufacturing errors like this get qualified by CGC, which means the grade would be affected, but the defect is ignored. But whether it affects the grade or not, it will definitely affect the price. Who is even going to want that fugly copy?

    As in they should detect it (but CGC is not even close to being infallible) and give it the proper restored label.

    Low grade comics don't get qualified grades, at least not generally. Interior signatures generally have a negligible effect on grade.

    Yes, but I think the last one was years ago and didn't get that much participation. Yes, there are multiple 7-figure collections represented here. Mine is... not quite one of them.

    Grading is an art, not an exact science. People have tried making systems like what you suggest before and some are pretty good, but none are perfect. Also, we don't need TPGs for grading. Maybe some people do, but I sure don't.
