  1. Yeah, and I hear the sun rose this morning and there is snow on the ground here. The problem is still people not following the rules/guidelines for this forum. The only "new" thing here is the clarification of the guidelines.
  2. Kudos to bigfiver69 for some nice "reader" horror comics at a great price! But I'm blaming you if I start collecting more horror after this.
  3. Thanks for the positive and meaningful contribution, deathlok. I believe Arch already mentioned something specifically in this thread about hi-jacking it with insults. The forum seems to be working well with the new guidelines, Arch.
  4. Kudos to: -ft88 for some really nice, well packaged DCCP issues -mikeyriffhard for a huge JLA set and a couple of small X-Men sets, all beautiful books, extremely well packaged
  5. Thank you, Architect! 2 through 9. 10. As already addressed, a week is too long considering most sale threads only last a few days. I voted for 1 day in the poll. 11. Although I don't think adding 4 characters to the start of the thread title is that hard for sellers, I think the implication for posts that don't start with "WTB" is that they are sale threads. However, the requirement for an indication of what's available is great, even if it's only a general description like "mid-grade Silver-Bronze Marvels"
  6. I've done it. If I hadn't been so careless right at the end and ripped that piece out of the cover, you wouldn't be able to tell it ever had the hologram. I had wondered about the holograms since Taste_of_H8red was asking about Wolverine 75s some time ago. I had some X-Factor 92s with badly rusted staples (guess I didn't notice the staples while I was cramming that $30 longbox full ), so I decided to see how well the holograms came off. It's not too hard, you just have to be careful and very patient. Wow! I had been told that removing the holograms without damaging the cover was impossible not impossible, but it's not easy and would leave behind a trace of glue on the cover. maybe, but nothing you can feel or see under regular lighting conditions I'm sure there are legitimate manufacturing error copies out there, and I'm sure that CGC takes whatever steps are available to them to determine their authenticity, but if these sell for a huge premium over regular copies, it's only a matter of time before the manipulators go to work.

  8. It's a nice looking book. I hate to say this, but don't you think that right edge might be trimmed?
  9. They actually left just before it was announced (check their profile, last post date, and sig). They may not even know about it. Not that it's even relevant if the book isn't for sale.
  10. Kudos to DKB for the books I bought from him. Very well packaged and accurately graded.
  11. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35760&item=6604700520 (scans of some can be seen in the grading forum) and a few TPBs
  12. I found CPG when I was starting to get back into comics. After awhile, I found their message boards and lurked there occasionally for a few months. I finally decided to join the boards there, but when I went to activate my account something malfunctioned. At the time, things were going downhill there, so I just didn't bother with it. While I was lurking there, I clicked on a few links to threads here, and that was my first exposure to these boards. Unfortunately, those threads didn't exactly do a good job of enticing me to check out the rest of this place. I started lurking at STL, and after coming here through thread links a few more times, I started actually looking around. Then I finally joined both here and at STL. And now I spend too much damn time looking (and occasionally posting) at comics message boards.
  13. I kinda haven't gotten round to reading it yet - I have no idea how to approach it. It's actually sitting on my dining room table. So will I like it That is the question. You'll have to read it. (There is a long thread in Modern about it) And since a large part of this thread got cut, I will once again congratulate you on finishing the non-giveaway/promo/ongoing part of your collection.
