  1. 1 and 7-9 had multiple printings for sure, and I would assume other early issues did as well.
  2. "Heating up" implies that it was lower than that in the recent past.
  3. You're hoarding these because of rabbit man? What am I missing, the cover is probably the worst of the run. I think he's cool. Maybe a creator will too at some point. He's a throwaway joke character who just wants to live a normal life and appeared - once - 26 years ago. Then again, I'm still waiting for Marvel to sink even deeper into the garbage pile they've been inhabiting for years by introducing "the terrifying new villain who knows Spider-Man's secret identity, Tim Harrison!"
  4. We do severely stretch the Copper Age to talk about 90s comics here, but TT (v.3) is way too late for this section whether Miss Martian is overlooked/undervalued or not.
  5. Title of the thread is selling well. Looks like they did "Heating Up/Selling Well" meaning trends, not outliers.
  6. All I'm sayin' is that DM fans should want it and considering how many episodes were made there is was def a fan base. There just aren't that many DM appearances out there. Sellers will turn their noses up at this one but true collectors should want it. Oh and there's a newsstand for this one too! The Look-in's predate this appearance but good luck finding those in the states. What's not to like? It looks like it's going to be written by one of the Horrible Histories writers which sounds great to me. I just hope someone gets smart and makes a Yonderland comic. True collectors of what? Danger Mouse is not a comic book character, he's a cartoon character who appeared in a small number of comic books. The show has been gone for almost 25 years, since right around the time he made his debut (and quick exit) in American comics. I used to watch Danger Mouse occasionally when I was a kid, but I barely remember anything other than it being another below average (production) quality cartoon.
  7. It's not like these are extremely undervalued books, though. Except, of course, in the Annual Big Book of Unrealistic Values. Don't forget X-Men: The Search for Cyclops 1-4, which deals with the aftermath of Apocalypse's machinations.
  8. You guys do realize that Zack has just been throwing random out there to see if anyone will bite, right?
  9. Just started! But I haven't seen prices spike in the last two hours. He wasn't referring to 3 win basement dwellers. I have faith that the new regime will get us back on track. Then again, I can picture the Jets bringing home the trophy first. http://youtu.be/Vuvz15OjCVc Wrong city/country/league/sport. I'll be very upset if I don't see multiple championships here before those clowns win anything.

  12. Who the cares what attendees at conventions look like? Are you there to look for a date? I'm going to dress comfortably, not like a superficial, over-compensating insufficiently_thoughtful_person.
  13. He's pimping his daughters. If I wasn't on The List before, I am now!
  14. *Paging creepy guy with the 'stache, you're unmarked white van is illegally parked! they all look like pedophiles
  15. The guy who only cares about money and not about comics telling people to leave the hobby. Funny. I'm not sure how pointing out questionable hype and market manipulation equals being mad.
  16. Nobody has missed the boat on Livewire. All they have to do is visit any boarding dock except the one all the insufficiently_thoughtful_persons are occupying.
  17. This point is completely valid. If Livewire demand was being driven by fans of the character, who want to own and read her appearances, SA 22 shouldn't have been skipped over in the recent jumps in price and demand. It's an Internet hype fuelled gold rush. That's silly. A sale still needs to be consummated. You naysayers don't understand a free market. (Nor do you own any HG copies of these books). Focus. We're not discussing whether sales are occurring. We're discussing WHY sales are occurring. It's an upward spiral created by a sequence of greater fools, as fingh outlined earlier in the thread. The only question is: who is the last in line? And, having been involved in equities for fifteen years, I'll gladly match my knowledge of markets and market forces against yours, especially if you embrace the specious third grade level argument that naysayers must simply not own the books. If you think the rise in prices is indicative of a sudden intrinsic value in the character or stories then you must think the Dutch really valued tulips in the 1600s. So which Livewire appearances do you own? All of the SA ones, as I had all the DC adventures titles on my pull list. Seriously, though, arguing naysayers must not own the books is ridiculous, as is the flip side argument, which is to accuse the folks arguing for the book as pump-and-dumpers. So are you saying that no percentage of naysayers exist who would try to cool the market value of the book because they missed the boat? How can you know that for sure? That is nearly irrelevant. It is infinitely easier to pump a nothing book than it is to cool down a legitimate book.
  18. Isn't that the point? Why should anyone know about her? She's done nothing! I only know anything about her because of when she made her DCU debut, which happened to be when I was really into (then) current DC.
  19. Actually, it isn't. You need to get off your duff Lazyboy (eponymous) and actually read the books - everything you search for and find on the internet is not true Though, somebody's been working hot and heavy on this page . . . Yeah, it really is available... from multiple reliable sources, NOT wikipedia. You also probably missed my posts on Mr. Warren Worthington III.
  20. Proof that the "Livewire hype" is just insufficiently_thoughtful_person speculators buying what a few manipulators are telling them to buy? What step is that in the lead-up to the crash? The Livewire situation has nothing on the Scalped #43 debacle that's happening in the Modern thread, IMO. I just read that thread.
  21. Are there official forum rules on spoilers I'm apparently not aware of? It's not like it's a difficult thing to do-- and again, not everyone's read the series. Just a courtesy. the official rule is once something is a few years old, it does not need spoilers. and don't expect them. Dan Patrick actually did an interview recently with a Hollywood Insider discussing the concept of spoilers, and the expiration date on spoilers, etc. The interviewee gave separate guidelines for regular episodes (2 to 3 days), and series finales (24 - 48 hours), and the specific example in question was Breaking Bad. So...yeah, at most three days for a TV show episode upon airing. I think it's safe to say that, in comparison, THREE YEARS is probably a safe window for a comic book. It's not like it's a secret that Bernie dies in WD...and that just happened in the last issue! Do we still need to put it in spoiler tags that Glenn died in Walking Dead...? That happened more recently than Sheriff Karnow's death in Scalped, and he's a much less important character to Scalped than Glenn was to WD. For comics, it would be nice if people weren't randomly spouting off about things for people who read TPBs rather than single issues (it's not like that's rare). I avoid the main Walking Dead thread because I know people will be talking about the most recent issues, but then still post about recent developments outside that thread. But I think TPB releases are close to the expiration date. You can't get mad when somebody references ASM 121 in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 (movie) thread.
  22. Minor complaints aside I thought it was an amazing film that hasn't received the praise it deserves. Minor complaints like the movie not making any sense because of the changes made? Many scenes were very well done, but as a whole...
  23. You're saying people need somebody to "inform" them "Superman Adventures 22! HOT HOT HOT! Livewire appearance! BUY BUY BUY!" and until they are "informed" the prices will remain where they deserve to be. I'm saying that the information is readily available for anyone who wishes to seek out appearances of Character X or whatever else they want. If people actually cared about early appearances of Livewire, they could buy them or even start bidding wars for them without the need for hype.
  24. This isn't the 1980s. Anyone who actually cares about Livewire can very easily find out about all of her appearances and has had this ability for years. I know I tracked down some obscure appearances of characters I like who weren't (and still aren't) popular almost a decade ago. I don't dislike Livewire. She's a decent character. She just has nothing to warrant the prices we've seen recently.
