  1. Just back from CGC via Matt to have the resto removed. Well worth the wait since I dropped it off at WonderCon...
  2. Probably a 3.0 or so. There is a nasty gouge running the height of the second E in the logo up into the Iron Man burst. The paper is still there but it's a rip nonetheless. But the staples are tight, the colors are better than my scanner does it justice, and the pages are off white. There's some creasing here and there and the little chip out at the bottom of the cover. The interior is really nice though. I'm going to send it off to CGC as soon as I get sick of flipping through it and just holding a book I've wanted off and on for 30 years (no exaggeration).
  3. Late to the party but what the hey. I just got my Avengers #1 today!
  4. Kudos to CopperComics for the right price and super quick shipping (from the UK no less) on the Iron Man #1. (thumbs u
  5. What's there to be or not to be a fan about with the Rockford books?
  6. Got a list of upcoming books or a highlight list for those of us looking for specific things?
  7. Kudos to Aces for a fan-freaking-tastic Hulk #102 9.2. (Dude, if you sent that in yourself you got jacked. Unless there are interior issues that we can't get to because of the slab.) I like these sorts of cash/trade deals! (thumbs u
  8. Great book and it sounds like it was the right price!
  9. Happens all the time. I was going for the poetry of the moment.
  10. Yeah, the fin. Always the sign of a character designed by an editor if you ask me. I hadn't seen this before either until I saw it. then I looked up the early Sparklers in the trusty Gerbers and had to have this one.
  11. Kudos to: Monkeyman for a fat box of stuff including a ton of Avengers. Blind Owl for a nice FF annual #3
  12. I suppose I should have posted here too. $150 obo shipped insured . http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2280645&page=2#Post2280645
  13. Kudos to Blind Owl for a nice F/VF FF Annual #3! It flashed me back to my early days of collecting!
  14. What an awesome Subby cover. It's sort of THE Subby cover. Or one of a few more iconic ones. Sweet book.
  15. I almost forgot to post my other purchase from Wizard World LA... The cover's detached but it will do until another one comes along, if ever... And sadly I can't do anything about that skin tone moire pattern. But Captain Wonder and Tim fight a tiny David Bowie..
  16. Kudos to HighVoltage for a sweet Spidey 86 and to Designer Toast for a nice Avengers 6.
  17. Four books in today: Superman #5 2.5 S(A) -- If I had gotten it Friday this would be in Matt's hands! Small amount of glue and spine split sealed to cover! Mystic Comics #2 2.0 -- Harley traded this to me two years ago at San Diego as a 4.0-4.5 (and it sorta looked close enough, maybe a 3.5). Don't know what to think about this one. It may change my shopping habits though. I lost $500 on this one alone. National Comics #7 4.0 -- Metro was bang on grading this even with the bottom staple blown. My surprise of the box. The Mask #2 5.0 -- I can't remember but I think I got this from SilverAge at San Diego three years ago...? Condition and guide don't usually matter on books like this though. As always with my submissions: One surprise, One disappointment, and the rest in agreement.
  18. I almost bought that but the detached staple killed it for me. Still a great book.
  19. Wait, so who all is going to Wizard World this weekend? I may go more than one day...
