  1. No Sandman here but non the less a page I am proud to own.
  2. In the case of two signatures I have had pieces that were already signed by the artist signed again to authenticate it as an original and not a fake. I know it may sound weird but I also took photographs of them signing said art.
  3. I have a piece of OA that is from 3 comics and I would never, ever think about cutting it up to the 3 different covers. Then again I would never even think of shaving a piece of paper from a published piece of OA or erasing a dedication. To me it is part of the history of the piece. The first years of collecting OA I asked for dedications on the pieces I purchased directly from an artist but currently I have ceased that. I am, however, getting as many people that worked on a particular comic to sign any OA from said comic.
  4. I've heard that foolish thing from other collectors too but maybe its because they are only looking at current pricing for some art and not anticipating interest for pieces that previously weren't very popular. Live and learn
  5. Not only her eyes! Her dimples and the detail on her jeans! Just wow!!
  6. Really? I haven't been able to afford any AE for some time now but they are lovely. Hope they don't shut them down.
  7. The Alan Davis has Captain Britain in the page so maybe that is why.
  8. I have never done business with MGA and don't plan to. I am not sure but once I inquired about purchasing a piece immediately and the rep was asking me for references in order to purchase. WTF??? Reference for a piece I want to pay immediately for? Needless to say I said "you know what? I'll think I'll invest my money elsewhere!" Patience is a virtue in this hobby that is all I will tell you. Dealing with people is always complicated in any area. Apparently your offer has been accepted and they just wanted to secure the sale with a deposit, one that you no doubt would loose in case you backed out of the deal. Some people are expecting people to back out of a deal and make some easy money, lol.
  9. Really tragic! Tatiana Dykes is a legit representative that is doing the fundraiser for her.
  10. I use a Start Prat S2000 Convertible Backpack Portfolio, Weather-Resistant Canvas, Pockets for Storage and Tube Holder, 24 X 27 X 2.5 inches, Black. The consumer in me wants both of the Jim Lee bags the one for art and the one for comics. If I do a big enough sale before the kickstarter ends I'll probably buy the art one at least. Even if I think it is really expensive. I do international travels to fly to a convention and lately I've been taking as much art as I can to have either the artist, writer or the inker sign the art for me so I need a bag that won't give me trouble because of the size of the bag my current prat is just to big and I have no problem hauling it at conventions as I also take 1 or 2 long boxes with me.
  11. Why is it priced above market? Is it because you have asked about a NFS piece on CAF? Is it just the asking price for the piece? If it is the asking price for a piece that is for sale go ahead and make a fair offer and see what the sellers thinks. It can't hurt to haggle a price tag. Most of us OA collectors overprice our art knowing that prospective buyers always try and haggle the price down.
  12. Lately I have been taking all the OA I can to shows to have inkers, artists, writers who have been involved with the piece sign it. As for a commission I wouldn't have a writer sign it but if you would like it I would encourage you to do so following the recommendations of others here. Have him place the signature where you'd like it.
  13. Ask for references. Who has he bought from. Get emails and ask around. Its always good to check on a persons background just to be sure.
  14. Completely sealing the storage of art is not a good idea. It needs to breath and if its gonna be sealed for 30 + years then the paper might yellow faster because of the chemicals that the paper and ink produce.
  15. This wonderful BATMAN #227 DC Comics 1970 CGC 6.5 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE NEAL ADAMS HOMAGE COVER to Detective Comics 31 is ending in a few hours! Don't miss out! BATMAN #227 DC Comics 1970 CGC 6.5 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE NEAL ADAMS COVER
  16. I am putting the following pieces of art for sale. My CAF has the pricing I was asking for them but I'm putting them out there waiting to hear offers for them. 1. Michael Turner double page splash from Witchblade Issue 15 pages 17-18 inked by D-Tron. 2. Ben Dunn Warrior Nun Areala Scorpio Rose Issue 01 cover. 3. Eric Basaldua EBAS Wonder Woman Commission. 4. Ed Benes Birds of Prey Issue 04 Page 06 BLack Canary vs White Canary. 5. Gary Frank Superman Secret Origins Issue 05 page 22- You can PM me your offers here or send me an email to tsguerrerom@gmail.com
  17. I concur with the above statements. Contact a pest control company if you have vermin or insect issues. Use archival materials to store art and remember art has to breath too!
  18. deja vu! same set up that they had in november of last year. I couldn't find anything because everything there was high priced items that I couldn't afford. I also took a piece of art I wanted to trade but all that expensive art made me not want to ask if they were willing to trade thinking I would be shamed for having such a low priced piece. I got to meet all the dealers there except for the Donnelly brothers which I avoided from visiting.
  19. I have collected comics ever since I was about 8 years old in my first trip to the USA back in 1984 haven't stopped since. I don't know how I didn't notice OA before 2009 since I had attended one convention in NY in the '90's and one in 2007. Looking through the internet I think I came by Albert Moy's website and then it clicked for me. I went ahead and purchased a page from Promethea by JH Williams which was what I was reading back then. Haven't stopped since and have been broke ever since too. lol, I wouldn't give it up ever!
  20. Mark Bagley actually did Batman. I had a page from the book in which Two Face was featured. Maybe that is why he drew him for you?
  21. Because they are a treasure! I regret letting go of one page I had in a trade some years ago.
