  1. Too bad if this is true. I've always held CGC in-house signings in high regard and trust that it will happen close to the closing. They do have an out statement that they will keep the books secured in case the signing is postponed, but this is beyond postponement if there was no firm schedule to begin with. Desert Wind Comics also had a Jim Lee signing event -- they never answered me back if and when. Looks like CGC may be going the DWC way on this as well.
  2. Perhaps busy with DC Fandome coming up. Hopefully he frees up after that.
  3. I'm pretty sure CGC will post on social media (Facebook) as they do with the others when this signing happens. So far nothing.
  4. Got this in the mail today from CLink (if seller is a boardie here, thank you). Love the cover. Says its from a 2010 Stan Lee tribute event (with a DWC holo sticker on the back), whatever that was about.
  5. Decided to get this from the 'bay. I've always been a fan of nice clean art lines.
  6. I didn't. I figured he had no other place to sign except the black background. Nice of him to avoid the title and artwork and keep it clean. Also, subtle way of saying he's Thanos
  7. Back from the Rubinstein signing.
  8. Didn't know about this quirk. Learn something new every day
  9. Got myself some Vin Diesel lovin' A common modern, but it's hard to resist the Valiant label.
  10. Would like to see Kingdom Come. I always think who would do best to play late-aged Superman and Wonder Woman.
  11. Wow, $120 for Romita and $110 for Jim Lee. Add shipping, slabbing and processing fee, its gonna be expensive. Heard some bad experiences on these boards that does warrant doubt. I personally subbed 5 9.8 slabbed books to them, 2 came back 9.8, 2 9.6 and 1 9.4. It's a gamble.
  12. Yeah, the old slabs are not very finely designed. I hold on to them until I get enough of a batch (or a custom label I like) to submit for a reholder which looks way shinier, more durable and seals better.
  13. Me like most everyone else here, the extra bucks come out a day or two after a major purchase.
  14. Depends on which age though. For copper/moderns, most 9.8s are reasonably priced for the casual enthusiast. 9.9s and 10s are outrageously and practically unaffordable, targetted to the hardcore collector.
  15. True, Rob did influence other artists; Fraga, Miki followed his footsteps. "Liefeld's School of Superhero Anatomy"
  16. This popped on my mycomicshop daily feed. Everything here is just physically and anatomically wrong. Let me guess... Liefeld. "UNGH!""
  17. Popy Yamato, nice!! I used to hang out on the ToxboxDX.com website until my interest waned. I still collect Japanese robot toys but just mostly the newer Soul of Chogokin lines.
  18. Heard back on my BIN that was rejected, said "The consignor sold it privately but forgot to delete it off my site. Sorry for the inconvenience." Not happy about it but what can you do
  19. Wasn't clear, but did Doug tell you that some books on the site are from old postings/stale, and if this happens basically the books you BIN'ed are no longer available?
  20. I have the same thing happen on an Inventory listing. Asking price was $195, I sent a $150 offer, but decided later on to do the $195 Buy It Now. Then I get an offer rejected for the asking price. Sent an email to Doug, sent him a PM too on the boards, never got a reply. This was around 2-3 weeks ago.
  21. Surfer looks nice. FF, Thor and Spidey/Goblin may look good only on certain books. Miles Morales unfortunately limited to moderns.
  22. I got 3 books go through last April via DWC before Mr. Romita halted signing. In hindsight, I wish I submitted more during his past healthy years.
  23. Happened to me as the buyer. Book was in USPS limbo for more than a month. Item was shipped promptly via Priority Mail but I understood that it wasn't the seller's fault. I had to file a case with eBay just to have some trail that a transit issue was going on beyond the 30-day eBay threshold. Wasn't expecting it but the seller sent a refund and I promised that if the book showed up I'll pay it back. After 2 weeks the book came and sent back the money to the seller. I honestly also don't know how to handle this. Is it the buyer or seller's responsibility to check with the post office? If you end up refunding hopefully the buyer will be honest enough to level it up when it arrives, perhaps get it in writing on the case record. Packages stack up at the post office and unfortunately I feel it's first-in-last-out when this happens. Good luck.
