  1. You talking about your Campbell SS? My Campbell is still sitting at SFG since 11/5
  2. You talking about your Campbell SS? My Campbell is still sitting at SFG since 11/5
  3. I received an eBay message giving me $15 if I updated my account details (to eBay managed payments).
  4. Uh, because in some other universe wolves have venom?
  5. Agreed on the ads. There are some variants that don't have any ads on the back, but they a re extremely few and far in between for specific books that you want to get signed. For me, front cover and nice placement will do.
  6. With various (and degrading) variants of his signature, the yellow label is the only thing I can truly trust anymore.
  7. B then A. I still believe in the power of reasonable negotiation and communication.
  8. I had this on an older slab, asked if CGC would reholder and they said yes (manufacturing error: Debris). It was over the cover and I was concerned that with pressure over time that it might make a dent.
  9. Does being on the HOS block that person from submitting a book for grading? Will CGC honor the submission If Shooman has the book and attempts to sub it?
  10. Which Spawn, the 4-volume big slip-cased one or the 10-volume set? I opted for the latter which was cheaper but still hard to complete with #8 and #7 topping the bill.
  11. Maybe his account got hacked after he sent the item out??? Perhaps someone messing and sending eBay messages out on his behalf. Doesn't explain the refund though unless it was also hacked. But yeah, hella weird.
  12. Getting old, eyesight's not what it used to be, so I need all the help I can get
  13. To the detail-oriented submitters here, any special setup you do in inspecting the books, and what works best for you? Like, do you use magnifying glass on a stand and move the book around, or the other way around? Do you use bright fluorescent and/or an ultraviolet light? What setup does best in showing up any imperfections? Any recommendations from Amazon?
  14. I agree with someone's assessment here that newstands are for completists, or for sellers who know their stuff. Personally, I don't have unlimited funds to burn, so they don't appeal to me. I'd be happy enough to have a high quality first printing direct edition, then move on to my next book. As for variants, only if I like the cover or a fan of the artist. I consider myself a "practical" collector" Having said that, I respect the zeal and tenacity of these completists. Good example is a post here I came across of a Superman 18 Doomsday from the first printing down to the DC newstands, very hardcore.
  15. Did you ever have a roommate or a shady family member? They sometimes steal stuff, you know
  16. Your book is fine and I actually like it. First time I heard about CVA so I looked it up, perhaps I should open up a business to grade their silver and gold sticker. So they grade the aesthetic looks of the book and the case? To quote Joe Biden, "Oh, c'mon man!!"
  17. sorry, spur of the fingers thing and didnt search it up. Saw it on a social media post and on a new slab at that so looks like they are still in business.
  18. What is the point/rationale of the existence of a company that verifies a certified book? Where will verification end? Do you really want another hologram sticker to say that the CGC hologram sticker is authentic, and does it really add value? https://www.cvacomics.com/
  19. You don't say! I bought this a couple of months ago because I was bored one Sunday afternoon.
  20. My very first SS submission was through him, as well as my most recent. Rest in peace.
  21. I have a CGC Signature Series book that I'd like to get CCS pressed and regraded (with fast track). Please advise on how to navigate the submission page to do this. Thank you.
