  1. Yes it does. Two occasions I subbed a 9.8 blue slab and came back a 9.6 and a 9.4. Doesn't happen often but they sting when you remember them. Subbing an already high grade book is always a risk, that's just the reality.
  2. For me, it's CGC SS or nothing, I'd keep them raw. For me, I'd just hunt down high grades and hope to get a CGC SS opportunity with Mr. Silvestri. (you can jump in on a Claremont signing is coming up)
  3. I was chasing down signed Civil War Turners in 9.8 and eventually my last missing piece was a #5. The only one I can find was a 9.6 on eBay. Decided to haggle it down to a reasonable price and after some careful inspection decided to roll my dice on a CCS press. Below are the before and after pics. Search is over Before: After: However, there's a 2" hairline crack in the inner well on the bottom back. Will post it on a different thread. Still debating in my mind if I should send it back.
  4. Exactly! Sucks if the clock resets because of their mistake.
  5. As long as you take clear and detailed pictures of obvious inside blemishes, they should help you out. Also, I see those "inner specs" to be more common on foil covers; for the most part I wanted to live with it but it still hella annoys me.
  6. "weiner bangs" Why assume encapsulator was male? What's the female (or non-gender specific) equivalent?
  7. Lots of 80s cartoons to choose from aside from the popular Transformers, GIJoe and TMNT. Like Thundercats, SIlverhawks, Mask, Bionic Six, Centurions, etc. How about non-toys like old consoles and games?
  8. Anyone here who submitted for the JSC in-house including pressing/fast track? Mine is stuck at SFG since 11/5. I already emailed CGC, but I want to know if this is normal for this batch or is mine a glitch. Thanks.
  9. Maybe Jim Lee shows up here once the DC bankruptcy issue is out of the way Still wishing for the 7 Image founders to get together (+ Keown, Sam Keith, Scott Williams). Oh well...
  10. Try putting a note on your submission form like "Reprinted in the Philippines by JMC Press" when you send it in. CGC might discuss to consider putting the text in the label. Good luck. Didn't know National Bookstore printed them, interesting what the paper/print quality is on these books.
  11. Yeah, did it. I'm not a frequent seller so why not.
  12. Increase in submission, very likely because everyone is bored at home, plus all these in-house signings, and finally in my opinion, an increase in CGC popularity. Lot's of new members here and on social media groups signing up. Usually if there's an uptick in business you expect staff to grow, but we are not privy to that information.
  13. See what I mean? I was wrong and somebody from the CGC boards made it right
  14. Contact CGC, I'm sure they'll make it right.
  15. Sketch? <I was going to say Catwoman was licking the wrong thing, but, you know...>
  16. Even the CGC lookup doesn't say who/when it was signed. Obviously it was Campbell but if it was another book with a cryptic signature and wasn't immediately corrected, is the record/history lost?
  17. Yeah it's one of those things that were expensive to buy when you were a kid, and more expensive now that you're an adult.
  18. Mario Bros 1 and 2, plus Ball. Nice but mostly just for nostalgia purposes. May be available at your local Target stores.
