  1. Actually, they were on Wizard's website for $49.99 not $10.00 when I purchased them. And yes they stated limited to 10. I also confirmed it when I attended a Wizard World Philly Con years ago when I approach a gentleman at the Wizard booth with a blue and red in hand. He actually called up one of the owners of Wizard who confirmed he remembers that they were limited to 10 copies. So there you have some data and history of these rare gems. You know that's just hearsay, right...? The same can be said about what you posted That's right...that's why I used language that expressed that, rather than stating it as fact. The question wasn't what you paid for them....the question is whether they were really "limited to 10." You, and I, have it on hearsay. "I heard from a guy who heard from a guy that they were limited to 10." While that's certainly possible, it may not be very likely, especially considering printing technology and requirements of 1993. Even the "limited to X" books always have additional copies printed, to account for potential spoilage. Were there only 10, ever, and not a single one more, or less, made? Maybe.
  2. [font:Book Antiqua]I wish you dream come true...[/font] (thumbs u That chip on your shoulder only hurts you, MagnusX.
  3. Holy , what the hell is that, the entire movie...?
  4. There is a 9.8 Blue Sig Series book. I think Chainnball did it. It's a safe bet he doesn't have it any more. And you are correct. I thought I had a line on a 9.4 Red, but that lead has dried up. However, has lead me to possible black ashcans.... Keep us informed.

  6. Ignore is a very good thing...if you have the discipline to stick to it. If everyone put the people they don't like on ignore, or "ignore", and simply didn't interact with them (and worse, badmouth them in private), this would be a lot nicer place. I would rather be on ignore from 99% of the people here, and be left with the people I value, and who value me.
  7. Oh, believe me....I already showed restraint...
  8. Possibly. But I could be living dangerously...
  9. Interesting. I wasn't aware of any Kieth "drama/fiasco/butthurt", but I do know that Sam made several signing appearances at the IDW booth at SDCC last year, and all you had to do was show up and stand in line. Where can you find the CGC SS Kieth books...? Aside from mine, which are all terribly overpriced because I love them and cannot bear to part with them, there are only six CGC SS books on eBay, and only a handful sold in the last three months. MINE...all mine....my precious.... I really should join myslabbecomics.com....
  10. This is the scenario to which I referred. If a person wanted to do something exclusive with a facilitator, I don't see any problem with that, unless the facilitator was the only means of getting that creator for SS. (that kind of exclusivity.)

  12. Yet telemarketers are not obverse at calling you 5 times a day. I'm ditching a bank I deal with because they gave my number to another company. Bastards. Obverse? That's an effrontery! Heads should roll! ADverse. Better? Much...but did you appreciate my puns...?
  13. Were they offered as "get your copy now, because there's only 10!" Or , was it just give out as many as are ordered? That, I don't remember. I saw the ad, but not until they were all gone. I was much annoyed. They were advertised as test prints, and I'm 82% certain that they were quoted as "limited to 10." But...that number was just how they were listed...who knows if that was actually the case. Wizard divested themselves of all their 1/2s in 2007, and other such promos, so they probably have nothing left, but there's no way of knowing for sure.
  14. Far, FAR less interesting, and far, FAR more snotty. Thinking they can take on RMA...? Who the hell do they think they are...? Oh well. There are some bright spots. That AITA guy is awesome. That W16726 guy is looking promising, as is that wombat guy. We'll see how they play out. You'd think posting this publicly would be risky, but this is essentially just a PM that everyone can see and post in. No one checks it out unless they're Shelley lovers, or just bored. I think there's been a paradigm shift in board culture over the last few years toward the sales threads and away from KSA (knowledge, skills and abilities). Evidently, if you are actively buying/selling/trading here this supposedly acts like a booster pack giving you some sort of extra unearned board credibility. Which, if you think about it, doesn't make much sense since most people buy the bulk of their collections elsewhere. And also, unfortunately, leading to some rather distorted views on the concepts of community and friendship. It is what it is. I like a lot of the new people here, but I definitely miss some of the old posters who have disappeared and what they used to bring to the table. Ah yes, the halcyon days of three years ago. I am trying to figure out if I was more awesome three years ago or just as awesome. Slightly less. After all, you were under 40 three years ago. According to SOT, now you're two breaths from the grave. My awesomeness has never faltered and never failed. Your inability to comprehend this makes me sad. It also makes you a bully. Begone, community disrupter. You let me worry about that. Oh, and learn how to quote, sexist noob! No. I said sexIST, not sexY. Although, that one time in Albuquerque.....
  15. Did you know, the red and blue Maxx 1/2s were offered on Wizard's website around 2007 for $10 or so each...? True story.

  17. Almost....just this close...to being as cool as a Black #3....
  18. Oh my! Very impressive! The best dinosaur comics ever. Ever. Ever ever ever.
  19. Facilitators facilitate...that is, they handle the process between CGC and creators. As such, they serve the same function as ambassadors...and ambassadors never make decisions in and of themselves...they represent the interests of the nation they serve. It should be up to the creators and/or CGC to decide who they will, and will not, do business with, if there is "exclusivity."
  20. I was the first to reply! That is a funny thread. Classic Dice. I miss his posts. A lot of classic posters that have been replaced by less interesting noobs. Ah well, such is the nature of message boards. Far, FAR less interesting, and far, FAR more snotty. Thinking they can take on RMA...? Who the hell do they think they are...? Oh well. 21. Because people are involved...and worse, have been given exclusives...who have no concept about things like proper representation, customer service, basic common sense, courtesy, judgment, discernment, etc. For example...a facilitator has no business...NONE...telling a potential customer they are "not interested in their business" especially if they are the exclusive access to a creator. That isn't their place to decide; if they are doing that, CGC needs to absolutely yank their "exclusivity" and give it to someone who knows how to deal with customers. I don't understand it, although I know that effort has been made to improve things...but there's still a very long way to go.
  22. Remember when actors changed their names, so as to not have difficult, unwieldy monikers for the public to haul around...? I miss those days. Benedict Cumberbatch sounds like a Sesame Street character.
