It can be professionally done or by amateurs. In the case if this FF48, the color touch was likely done with a pen and the ink bled through the front cover to the interior cover. We also detected it in the right light due to a discrepancy in the sheen or gloss of the cover.

I'm going to buck the trend and say I think this could be an 8.0.  Has this been your copy for a while or recent purchase?  What a beaut, thanks for sharing it!

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer but I'm at 5.0/5.5 as-is.  I agree a C/P is a great idea (that back cover is really dirty) but I would think this tops out at 6.0 or 6.5 max.

Interesting, I'm not sure how to treat that sticker on the front, will be interested to hear what others say.  I'd put this at a 4.0/4.5

6.5 for me but would benefit a lot from C/P.  I don't think the date stamp dings the grade at all but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong 

I was going 9.2 but that's partly because I'm very reluctant to go higher without pictures of it out of the plastic.  Very well could be 9.4 or higher but just too tough to tell at that level of detail when all pictures in bag for me

Yeah that crease is a shame because the rest of it looks great.  I have almost no experience with squarebound grading but I have it at 8.5 based on that big crease and the "ripples"

What am I looking at in the second to last picture please?  Looks like an interior page crease and maybe the table you're taking the picture on has liquified and become part of the page?  Kidding.  But really, is that overspray or something else?

Agree 100%.  If you don't want opinions to be swayed so don't want to reveal the grade I understand but I think at least grader notes would be helpful.  Also, key question for me would be whether the book was cleaned and pressed already or no?

If a comicbook is otherwise perfect, you can max out around FN-VF/7.0 with a completely detached centerfold. Once you get into the GD range this major defect will likely not effect the grade.

Wow, congrats!!  Very curious to know - did you do a clean and press or just submitted it as-is?

I candidly don't know how to go about grading a detached centerfold so I'm going to defer to others with more experience on it

I think the cleaning especially would be beneficial.  I wouldn't be shocked if it cleaned up to a 5.0

Everybody just take a breath and calm down.  We'll get a definitive answer........around March of 2023.

Really really tough to tell in the plastic but I'd say 8.5/9.0

Oh interesting, I'm all the way up at 7.0/7.5 for that one!

I'd say 3.0

This one was a roller coaster!  Saw it online - price was great, pictures were fuzzy so really tough to tell condition.  Decided to roll the dice but had a knot in my stomach.  Book arrives with no backing board...!?!   So I'm already saying "I told you so" to myself when I open it and find...what's below...so was feeling   Anyway, if you wouldn't mind please calling out the specific flaws that you see I'd really appreciate it!  Thanks very much!
