  1. Yes, the dust shadow looks like my farmers tan that i rock all year long. Lol . the only good thing is that it’s not as distinctive in person as in the photos but clearly it’s what’s holding the book back. Thanks everyone for your opinions. You guys are always better than me!
  2. This one came from the same 40 year collection that I recently picked up. Just like the other books it looks like it has never been opened. It hasn’t been pressed or cleaned but i will have it done before it gets graded. There is a dust shadow on the back left side but other than that I can’t find a single spine tick, or flaw on it but you guys have much better eyes than me. Thanks for your opinions.
  3. This one was one of the better conditioned books that i picked up from a 40 year collection recently. When i pulled it out , it didn't look like it had ever been opened. It hasn’t been pressed or cleaned but i will have it done when i send it in for grading. Thanks in advance to everyone for your opinions.
  4. I’m back again for some input on this one. It hasn’t been pressed or cleaned yet but I am going to have it done before grading. I’m sorry about the overall photo being in the bag and board. I didn’t realize i hadn’t taken an overall photo until after i had already put it back in. Thanks in advance for everyone’s opinion.
  5. If some of you guys ever loose your day job you can defiantly get a job grading for CGC. The 5.5 crew takes the win !
  6. Correct me if I’m wrong , but wasn’t the million dollar Marvel comics #1 CGC 9.4 previously a CGC 9.0 book ? I don’t think there was any kind of backlash about its re grade at all ? Me personally, I only care about the current grade a book is in.
  7. CCS sent an email today. It looks like they have it pressed. I sent it walk through tier at CGC so i should have it back soon. I will post the grade as soon as I get it. Thanks for everyone’s opinions.
  8. Thanks everyone for your feedback. I’m interested in just how much dirt can be cleaned from the cover as well. If it comes back a 6.0 i would be very happy with it. The crazy thing is there isn’t any creases at all but it has indentations. The corners are decently sharp but I am worried about the dust shadow. It runs the length of the spine on both the front and the back. Of course it has the Marvel chipping as well. Oldrover , if it comes back a 7.0 I would be dancing in the streets !
  9. All opinions are welcome. This one was in a collection that the owner had since the mid 1980s. It was stored in an old loose bag and the cover is quite dirty. It’s on the way to CGC and CCS for press and clean now so it should be back soon. I will update everyone with the grade as soon as it’s back. There are no spine splits and the staple attachment is very nice. It has marvel chipping and a light dust shadow on the edge of the book. I would love to hear opinions on the grade it is currently in and also what everyone thinks it’s potential is after the press and clean. Thanks for your time.
  10. I agree, with this many books there is really too much money at stake to risk it. I will call them and make sure , Thanks
  11. This is just one example. We have probably 200 books to send in. Some have pencil on the back like this and we’re just wondering if the normal clean and press will remove this, You just don’t want to submit that many books without knowing everything they will do under a service. The term “clean” has its limitations and I’m just wondering if pencil removal is part of that. If it’s something that would need to be done under a different service , we want to make sure all of those books go into that tier the first time. Thanks to everyone.
  12. Thank you , it has some marvel chipping but the colors were deep and really liked the way it presented I was looking at 3 different copies , a 5.0, this 5.5 and a 6.0. I liked the 6.0 but the book had turned really brown, especially the back cover. The 6.0 didn’t have chipping but I liked the way this one looked overall so i bought the book and not the grade. It was tough but i couldn’t turn down these bright colors. I’m very happy to have it.
  13. I punched my ticket last week. It came in the mail this morning. It felt like Christmas morning 1982 all over again !
  14. If the back of that book is clean that book looks to be under graded. That’s a nice looking copy to be a 2.5.
  15. It’s a silver age book that my brother was going to submit. I will get a photo of it. It’s a pretty clean book but some wrote 10 cents on the back cover in pencil.
  16. To have them remove pencil writing on the back cover ....... Does anyone know if this is included with the “press and clean” service or do I have to submit it for the restoration removal service to have it removed ? Thanks
  17. That would be awesome ! I’m hoping to get somewhere around a 4.0 but the grade isn’t as important as getting a blue label. I’m sending it in tomorrow. I will give and update as soon as I get it back. Thanks again everyone.
