  1. Judging by the line awaiting the opening of my LCS this morning, the like of which I have probably not seen in many a year, I'm going to guess the current and last issue of The Walking Dead might make the grade for this here thread, no?
  2. Me too, but I include my collection of Topps trading cards over ANY comic books. They were my gateway to comics and have been in my OCD mind longer....left more of a 'scar', if you will!
  3. BTW, it's a joke on this, in case the reference was missed due to 'pie smearings'
  4. I'd say it's arguably classic! It's the only Life magazine I've had a hard time keeping in stock in my own inventory and at used book and magazine stores where I worked that carried old Life Magazines. Probably the runner up would be the Zapruder/JFK cover. That Manson Life cover has a Life of it's own, I daresay.....even was used as an album cover...sort of.... Pop Smear magazine #20 (1999) To name but a few.....
  5. The only thing that could possibly make this even more stellar a cover would be if Norman Mingo had painted it instead of Kelly Freas, but I'm sure there are those who prefer Freas' Mad cover work to Mingo.....so there's that!
  6. Hate to be a buzz kill, but Comix International #1 is one of the most beautiful collections of material and color in the history of Comics Magazine publishing. Seems a shame to only be able to ogle it's cover and not ram your snoot into the depths of it's interior! I have 2 runs of CI that I bought as they were published. One run I had bound into hardcover while the other sits in a box, still virtually untouched after all these years, so I am a tad guilty of hypocrisy myself, but I consider run #2 my back-up plan should harm befall the bound run. I pull it off the shelf often and sometimes just get off on flipping through it to absorb all the pretty art and colors...and that smell....oooh..la la! My favorite Warren run, hands down!!!
  7. Found my Gaines sig at a used bookstore in Berkeley, CA in a copy of the Mad Reader which was half cover price, or 38 cents. Makes a great bet winner, too when one can cite a stat straight from the horse's mouth! (sorry for blur. No phone only webcam!)
  8. Looks like it's also a book on demand, but there are a couple original copies here: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=adolf&bi=0&bx=off&cm_sp=SearchF-_-Advtab1-_-Results&ds=30&recentlyadded=all&sortby=17&sts=t&tn=march of evil
  9. I got some mail from the Church Of the Subgenius back in the late 70's or early 80's that contained a small Pee-Dog thing (I think there was also a Poop Dog enclosure). I'm sure I still have it somewhere in the envelope it was sent in, but to locate it on purpose would be the proverbial needle in a haystack...whereas at some point I'll be looking for something else and there it will be! When I do find it, I'll be sure to post it here. I do recall being baffled by it as it had nothing to do with the reason I was contacting the Church....it was just some ephemera tossed into a reply! Now I'm really looking to track it down! In other news....is anyone else enjoying their copy of this magnum opus currently?
  10. Mad Annuals in nice shape with inserts attached are my Achilles Heel! I find them hard to resist at most any price! Congrats!
  11. Dolce, Are there other examples of Pussycat from Italy where they exhibited nudity like in the example above? I'm pretty sure that in the 66 installments uncovered, so to speak, there really wasn't any shown except maybe an a*ss once or twice. Where did this example come from, and now I'm curious as to who retouched the art....and if there's more? Glad I could be of assistance in helping you identify the original titles! Welcome to the forum!
