  1. Just have some movement ahead of schedule for a slow track modern submission: Received and SFG on 26 Apr 2022 G/E/I on 23 June 2022 I love this quick turnaround, kudos to the CGC staff for moving things so quickly
  2. Boom! Modern pre-screen arrived and went into SFG on May 19th, and hit G/E/I at the end of the day today. I've been super impressed with how fast the pre-screens have moved through over the past few months.
  3. This is awesome, thank you for sharing! CL takes down auction info fairly quickly so it is impossible to track their results over time without logging on your own.
  4. I tried to stagger my shipments so that I would have 3-4 weeks between each of them. The last couple went through way ahead of schedule which created a bit of a lull for me. I am still checked out of force of habit but it will be a few weeks before there is movement on any of mine. I guess this is my summer break
  5. I already have a response from customer service and they are reslabbing all of the books I identified as having newton rings and the one with the shard of plastic. Kudos for being so prompt and making the right call.
  6. Customer service was awesome to deal with. I just sent the pics, and hopefully they will re-slab all of the books rather than a selection of them.
  7. The good news: 20 out of 25 modern Star Wars books in my last shipment made the 9.8 pre-screen. The bad news: 8 of the 20 that make it had newton rings, and another one had a plastic shard trapped between the book and the front of the case. So 9 out of 20 should have failed quality control. Looks like I will be on the horn with customer service again to get this fixed.
  8. It is a sunk cost. Even selling a slab like this for $10 or $20 is better than cracking it and throwing it back into a bin, providing someone is willing to take it.
  9. Prescreens are charged when they move from G/E/I and into Quality Control. Yeah, it is much easier to do it that way since that is the first time there can be an accurate and certain count of how much an order will cost. However, I seriously doubt any motivation like to "slow the tide of submissions" is a factor in any decision that is made. CGC is a large business, and while having a backlog of submissions may be frustrating for us it very healthy from an organizational perspective. They are not going to discourage people from submitting to them.
  10. I am being charged for everything except pre-screens within a day or so of the shipment being opened.
  11. Very cool! I dont see any in the Sold Listings. I think this person will have a hard time getting even close to their asking price for it, but who knows.
  12. All of my modern submissions so far have gone through much faster than the listed TATs. We'll see how it plays out, but as it stands I am not at all concerned about small increases in what is listed.
  13. I have done a few pre-screens and they always charge my card as soon as the order moves from G/E/I to quality quality control. It is kind of handy because you can use the amount they charge to figure out how many books passed the pre-screen before the info is added into the online system.
  14. Hit QC today, 8 June 2022. This group got hit a bit hard by the grader. By my eye it was a stronger group than my previous pre-screen where I got 20/25 at 9.8 and I figured it would be near perfect, but this time around looks like it was 20/25 again.
  15. Group of 25 pre-screen Moderns slow track. Received - 31 March 2022 G/E/I - 6 June 2022
  16. I had this happen with a slabbed book, and it ticked me off because I agree to a price that was a bit below GPA. After the non-payment there was no option to give the person a strike. I ended up relisted in a different way and as a result GPA was never adjusted for the relist, so not only was the book not paid for but it also dropped in value as a result. Lesson learned.
  17. Packages are opened within a couple of days so it is pretty fast at the moment.
  18. Slow track pre-screen hit Q/C and today (2 June) and marked as shipped for tomorrow, 3 June 2022.
  19. The slow track pre-screen hit QC today, 2 June 2022.
  20. I have not noticed anything to support that argument in the groups of books I have sent in. Some of the ones I sent in that were graded faster were graded harshly, others were not, and the same is true for the ones that took longer.
  21. Is it just me, or is the wait to move from G/E/I to QC taking longer than it did a couple of months ago? My orders were typically moving between these stages in a day or so, but the past three orders have sat for a week before being graded and shipped out. No biggie for me either way, I just like to know so I know how often to check in to see what the grades are. They are still beating promised TATs on modern books by a pretty decent margin.
  22. Just got back from a short holiday and there was some movement on a couple of orders while I was away. Fast track submission with 9 moderns: SFG - 5/25/2022, G/E/I - 5/27/2022, QC and shipped on 6/01/2022 (generally good but two results were head scratchers) Slow Track submission with 25 moderns at a 9.8 pre-screen: SFG - 3/18/2022, G/E/I - 5/27/2022, no other movement yet.
  23. Not sure if the OP is from outside of the USA, but the package can also be opened when it goes through international customs.
  24. My FT Moderns that got to CGC yesterday have already been entered into the system so it definitely looks like you are right about this.
