  1. Doesn't bother me in the least. People need breaks (if that is the case), and a week or two either way doesn't make a difference to me when I am submitting books.
  2. People have noted this sort of thing before. The common theory is that you are assigned to a grader, and they work at different paces or have days off along the way.
  3. Modern slow track group of 25 received on 24 March 2022, just flipped to G/E/I 23 May 2022.
  4. I called again today and they let me know that a decision has been reached on how to handle this. They will be sending me a label to send it back using the Mechanical Error submission, and then they will look at it again and put it into a slab if they still think it is a 9.8. So basically what I was hoping for as a resolution.
  5. I try to be patient. The people who work the help lines are not at fault, and the ones I spoke with always do their best. I also get that mistakes happen. I just expect them to be dealt with in a reasonable amount of time.
  6. Yup, it had the code stuck to the front that they use to identify the book but it was sent back in the reject group (it was a pre-screen submission). They charged me for it being slabbed and it was registered as such, but it was sent back raw.
  7. Yesterday was the one month anniversary of having a book arrive back at my home that was not slabbed even though it was listed as 9.8 in the online tracking and I was charged for it. I got on the phone with CGC within 15 mins of opening the box, and I have been on the phone with them several times since then with no resolution. I try to be fair and I understand that things happen, but this should have been pretty straightforward. They should send me a slip to send it back, re-grade, and either slab it or refund the cash I paid to slab that book. Either that or send me a credit to compensate for everything. But every time I call there is no decision made on this issue, and the people on the help line have to real authority to make decisions. I am starting to get frustrated.
  8. I agree. I have to sift through economy complaints to find the stuff I am looking for here. A separate thread seems like a good solution since the economy and moderns are on different wavelengths for TATs.
  9. My last fast track was also really fast. I love that quick turnaround and I am about to send another FT modern group in today.
  10. Awesome, my next pre-screen moderns were 3/18 so shouldn't be too much longer.
  11. I've had really quick turnaround around over the past few months on slow track moderns, especially those with a pre-screen. I expect that to start drying up now though since they diverted some of their graders to help clear out the massive backlog in pre-1975 books.
  12. I just want to quickly add that I was very impressed with the shipping back to me. I am used to FedEx ground which usually takes a week or so from Canada to and from CGC. The package was picked up at CGC yesterday and showed up at my door 18 hours later. Really incredible, and big kudos for selecting the more expensive shipping option. I would have been totally fine with regular ground so this was a very pleasant surprise.
  13. The long boxes on their sides with comics stacked without bags or boards make me cringe and sob a little.
  14. Sent back two books using ME, one was broken when shipped back to me and the other had really bad Newton rings. Entered into SFG on April 14, and went to G/E/I about a week later. Shifted to QC and then shipped both on 12 May 2022. I'm very happy with the turnaround time. It weirdly went in G/E/I fast and then sat there, but the bottom line is it is being sent back quickly and faster than promised.
  15. Mine were received 4/14/22 and they have been sitting in G/E/I for a couple of weeks. Things like this really make me scratch my head.
  16. My ME book has been trapped in G/E/I for a couple of weeks now. No biggy since it hit that stage quickly and it is still well within the listed TATs, but it notable for me since this is the first time I have had something stall out there.
  17. I crushed it this round except for the HtD, where I was far enough away on the grade to make up for the bullseyes I hit on other books :P
  18. It has been a week now and the ME books are still in SFG. Does anyone know how long ME books usually take once they hit this stage? It is my first time with this process.
  19. Yup, the clock starts when the box is opened and it hits SFG.
  20. Shipped 2 May 2022. Some great results mixed with puzzling ones in this group. I will have to look at the books again once they get here.
  21. This is good news for me, I have a group that hit QC on the same day so hopefully they will ship out today.
  22. Coming up on two weeks without hearing what to do about the book that was sent back unencapsulated even though it made the pre-screen, and a month of waiting to hear back from accounting about an overbilling. I like to stay patient with stuff like this, and I am pretty chill about it all, but maybe CGC needs to invest in more support people to meet these demands. We all know that mistakes can happen, but people get less and less understanding the longer they wait for a resolution.
  23. This group just went to QC, so: SFG 31 Jan 2022 GEI 27 Apr 2022 QC 29 Apr 2022.
  24. I would guess there are two main reasons. First off, pre-1975 books have to be checked more closely for restorations and such and take a bit more time to grade than moderns. I mean, if the decision on the majority of books is where in the 9-range it falls the grading can go super fast. The second is the newer graders who are hired on would likely start at the modern tier and then work up to the older books once they build up experience. So new hiring will impact on the modern tiers first. Following along those lines, I would put the most experienced graders on the WK and Express tier books first since the stakes are highest there. I don't know any of that for sure, but it makes the most sense to me.
