Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
Motor City Rob replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
Why is the guy from Elite a goof? Pretty sure they are one of the most reputable sellers on IG. Hard to find better prices anywhere else as well. -
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
Motor City Rob replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
Yes, Silver and later. I'm not even talking about GA. Most keys are still up compared to early 2020. Obviously there are still many examples of smaller keys that are equal to or lower than early 2020 prices, but I would say it's still the minority. -

I would say most keys are still higher. Some significantly. That being said, I agree many smaller keys and non-keys are back to early 2020 prices or lower. -

I would say most big keys are still significantly higher than the low end prices of 2020. Many still 100% to 300% higher. Agree that a small selection of books have dropped all the way back to low end 2020. -
For just $150, you could own this NM- beauty!!! I actually messaged the seller and asked if the 9.2 in the title was a mistake, and he got super offended, reminded me that I'm not a professional grader, and "politely" told me to go away.

Buyer: huwoo_9 Bought the item...paid...and then asked to cancel because they didn't realize auto pay would happen. Not sure what that means. Save yourself a headache and block.

What (if any) are the Holy Grails of the Atlas/Seaboard line?

Excellent. Will do! -

I messaged asking if the listing was a mistake because the book didnt look like a 9.2, and they got extremely offended. Then asked if I was a professional grader. I always love that response. -

If you want Vicki #1 in beautiful 9.2 High Grade (tongue in cheek), here's your chance. Only $150!!! How does a seller with such horrible grading skills have so many sales with 100% feedback??? https://www.ebay.com/itm/234797793280?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aEVR7yHaQuC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=2XNeHPRbR1K&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY -
Slabbed Pedigree Books - Reholdering for Pedigree Label
Motor City Rob replied to bluehorseshoe's topic in Comics General
I have a little bit of a different take. I say go for it and get the new labels. That's part of the fun of the hobby. The risk of a downgrade is extremely low. If you enjoy the thought of seeing all your pedigrees in that new label....why not treat yourself? Would love to see them if you get it done. -
I think you're correct. Also, I don't think it's a secret. At the last Comic Connect auction, the sellers of the Bobby Blue Collection openly stated that they won at least one of the books from their own auction. Many of those books sold for ridiculous prices as well. Seems like a strange policy to allow sellers to bid. Not sure of the policies at the other houses.

The page quality doesn't make a huge difference unless you get into the higher grades. I also don't think the defects are that significantly different that would cause the 5.5 to sell anywhere close to the 6.5. At the end of the day, it's a 5.5 for a reason and that 6.5 is going to sell for more.

I have never requested this from Heritage, and my shipments have always required a signature. Might have something to do with value.

Agreed. Absolutely a scam. This will soon be removed from eBay's Terapeak data as well as GPA. -

I see. Sorry that happened to you. -

Not sure what you mean by entrapment. Almost everything in their auction is CGC graded. -
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???

In addition...FF#48 9.6 just sold last night for the lowest price in over two years for a white pager. Still much higher than 2020 prices but at least the adjustment is continuing. -
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
Motor City Rob replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
A few examples...FF #48 5.0 just sold for it's lowest since 2020. Silver Surfer #1 6.5 just had it's second lowest sale since 2020 and the 5.5 just had the 3 lowest sales of the year. ASM #50 4.0 had it's lowest sale in almost 3 months. I agree that it's not a free fall like we have seen over the past 12 months, but the decline is slowly continuing for many big keys. -
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
Motor City Rob replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
Even in the past two weeks, numerous silver age keys continue to drop. I'm ok waiting a little bit longer. -
Buyer: tsadtex2010 Bought an item and the minute it was delivered opened up a return because they found a better price. Buyer's remorse is instant block!

I started buying silver age keys again about six months ago and then I stopped because the prices kept dropping. Back to waiting and watching. -

Thanks for doing this. A little more green in the "vs last" column than some other months, but still a sea of red. -
@CGC Mike Apologies if this was already covered, but is it possible these books were pressed after the original pictures were posted? Only asking because on Hulk #5, the bottom left of the front cover had multiple pieces folded over, but once it got into the slab, the folds have been fixed. Attached a picture for reference. I had always assumed the books don't get manipulated after being received by CGC, unless of course it's also submitted for pressing. Thoughts?

HERO RESTORATION - BOOKS NOT BEING RETURNED
Motor City Rob replied to Kamenliter's topic in Comics General
Not sure of your point. Do you think this business should be sending books back to their customers? Or do you think the business isn't obligated because the customer should have known it's a risk and therefore, the customer has no reason to be upset? -
