  1. After review of the Police book, I feel the way the scanned images look were not favorable. It seemed a little faded to me and the tanning of the cover front and back. The spine stress from the top staple up seemed fairly heavy along with the tears and folding at the top, to me it seemed too much to go with a 6 or above. But if it looked as good as Point Five says in hand I'm sure I would have considered a 6-6.5.
  2. I wanted to grade the Shadows book at 4 but bumped it up to 4.5. The Police book I graded way too harshly and graded at 5.5.
  3. I really thought it was a nice looking book - I knew they'd hit hard for those little chunks out of the front and back but I believed the attributes would balance the book out.
  4. I think I'll end up with 8 points for this round. Missed the double bullseyes by that much!
  5. I love this cover. It's one of my favorites! Beautiful figure painting there. Was this Gonzales?
  6. This Hard Case Line always seems to be good - I picked up the Minky Woodcock series and loved it. Well written and fairly well illustrated. I would recommend them. I saw they had a new title out last week, I did not see this cover though.
  7. Folding laundry and drinking a Shiner Bock---Trying not to second guess my grades Cheers everyone! We shall see tomorrow night at 10?
  8. Thanks so much for sharing! It looks like I have more to collect than I thought. Those signed editions must be amazing to have!
  9. My grades are not in yet, even though I graded them both last night I'm afraid to pull the trigger as I really need 2 bulls to get back into this thing but I'm also afraid to review and reconsider last nights grades as I know that usually leads to worse grades in the end. And yet I am still putting it off so I am stuck. And now I wont even go back and peak at my worksheet from last night---I don't even wanna know.... Maybe I will just pretend I did not grade them and start fresh today and then compare and contrast from last nights, late night grading session?
  10. When you have a cover that good, there's no shame in reprinting it
  11. I will be checking in remotely later tonight. Good luck to everyone!
