  1. I would love to have a scrip of his too!!! I did not know they were even out there? I have found very little info on John, but I've read every thing I could find. Towards the end of his career he mailed his scripts in from France as he and his wife moved there in the 60's I believe. Imagine if a -script from 105 or 106 or any of his S.A. Flash came available!? I would love to see them! Especially the little notes like on this page! Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
  2. We have about 10 posts left for 133 Flash fans. So post 'em if you got 'em! Still on cloud 9 about my 105! Curiously I find my self double checking the top part of the comic where it says "MAR No. 105" as if to verify its true? I guess when you've spent more than 4 decades wishing for something it does strange things to the mind when it comes true. Still its a great escape from the news of the day to kinda take a break and look at comics for a bit and think of other things. I hope all is well with you and your families.
  3. Double covers must be rare? I don't believe I've ever come across one in all my years. I'm finding out many here on the boards collect them. Very cool to see a Flash with a double cover!
  4. Just 49 left to go to complete the run 105-350! Thanks to electricprune from the boards here who is keeping an eye out for me and helping me fill in some of my holes in the 300's. Just 11 left of the old S.A. below #149. The rest of the missing are all #273 and higher. Still there some big books to get 106, 110, 117, 139, 147 among them. It will take some more time. Where are all of your beautiful 133's? Please post them when you get a chance. We don't want my "Place holder" copy to be the only 133 on page 133 do we?!
  5. No grades submitted as I am out ... but still playing the "at home version"
  6. Well that's it for me Flash fans. I got knocked out of the grading tournament tonight. I've learned a lot over the last 2 years and 4 or 5 tournaments. My first guesses are usually the best, during the contest I second guessed myself several times and ended up being more inaccurate. But I did well at first scoring 6 bulls-eyes out of 11 and 3 only of by .5. I plan to go through my Flash collection this summer and grade it 5 or 10 at a time. Many of my Flash books are graded using the old 100 point scale. Anyone remember that one?
  7. did I miss the final tallies somewhere? I think we are still waiting right?
  8. Sweating bullets here?! We should see the bracket soon?
  9. I think I got 43 points after the -5 I took on the HOS arrrrrgh!
  10. No bulls for me but close on 3 of the books... totally blew it on HOS!!!
  11. Hmmmm, what to do while we wait for the results? Decisions, decisions, decisions...
  12. Don't beat your self up yet? We don't even know how badly we did yet! Oh no!!! Now i'm seeing double Kirk's! Hilarious!
  13. I love seeing the 139&147 there together!!! Those issues are missing from my collection still!!! I got to pick those up eventually! And just like that we are on page 133 - lets get those 133's out and post 'em Flash fans!
  14. Thanks Comicjack! You should join the fun! I'm sure you've got some S.A. Flash laying around the house?
  15. I went 8.5 on Thor too. To me it fell short of a 9.0, I mean I was trying to give it a 9.0 because it had a lot of what I call "9+ attributes" but could not in good conscience give it more. I just fell short in my eyes. Also the FF book in my eyes did not measure up to 9.4. I guess the apparent loss of color at the bottom of the cover was not enough to keep it out of the 9's? I mean, when i'm grading a book above 9.0 or at 9.0 I could accept some minor loss of color at the corners but not to that extent. IMO that would tend to hold it down a bit lower into the 8's. Maybe I was misinterpreting the scan of that book? I'll have to go back and take another look. Challenging round though-sharpening the old grading skills!
  16. That WW threw me for a loop!!! To me it looked like someone took a belt sander to the cover? But it must have been printed like that?
  17. I think I've had it for just about 2 years. I do have a few survivors from the 90's collection. My 116 and my 136 come to mind.
  18. OMG! I thought you were joking when you said you had a reader copy!!?? Thank you so much for sharing!!! What a treat to see inside! You know, I've been thinking over the last few days, for decades I was always the only Flash collector I knew of. Once and a while a comic shop dealer would mention another Flash collector but not often and i'd never met one or been introduced to one before. It is amazing, the things I've learned over the last two years, what you've shared. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to be able to chat and share with you all here! This is just another great example, where else would I be able to take a look at the insides of a 105!!!??? I've said it before, you all are the Greatest Flash Fans in the world! So lets keep the conversation going- I believe this is the last post for page 131 so get yr' 132's ready for the scanner and get ready to post 'em if ya got 'em Flash Fans!!!
  19. On a side note Flash fans, last night I took a peek inside my 105 while giving it a fresh new archival board and mip-it sheet and the missing centerfold does interrupt the story as it turns out. I am missing this last little half panel with the important end of the story! The description said it did not interrupt the story line. Still I am happy with my purchase, I was specifically looking for an incomplete book. I guess it must have been ad's on the other 3 missing pages, or letters to the editor? Does anyone else know what was on the centerfold?
