  1. My play from home score was my best yet 69! ASM I had 9.0 ET 9.4 Pun 9.6 XMen 8.5
  2. I currently have a choice of 2 prizes but if we need more just add the other one to the list and I'll give them both away. First come first serve on the gift card though, I only have one Visa gift card.
  3. I can vouch for this book. I have it in my little comic book library, it's a great book on the early history. It will make a great prize!
  4. It has been great for the hobby! Its more accurate now, well defined, less room for argument. Before CGC grading was kinda like the wild west.
  5. Right! Can't forget purple...trying to think of a purple Flash villain now...
  6. Speaking of Captain Cold lets move on to Flash 134 and talk some more about the Rouges! I believe this is his 3rd appearance? (As usual my 134 is a rescue/well loved copy, still just so grateful to have any of these books on my budget. I cant wait to see what you all have to share!)
  7. I've thought about this too over the years. All the green and yellow and other less-than-desirable colors for the Villains? I believe it was simply because all the good colors were taken by the heroes. Think about it...first you create the hero give them a great color like red or blue. Then when it comes time to develop the villain what are you left with? They cant be the same colors as the hero, and so green it is or maybe next month chartreuse, mustard yellow with green accents. Of course with the Flash being all in Red you could always have a villain dressed in blue, Cpt. Boomerang, Cpt. Cold But after that it seems to gravitate back to green and yellow. It still goes on today, new villain? Lets have his costume green and yellow lol!
  8. I was just thinking...how many of us on the boards here remember trying to grade comics back in the 70's,80's and early 90's, before the grading guides and CGC? All we really had to go by were the written descriptions in the OPG. I remember reading line by line in those definitions and looking at my comics, trying to put them into the categories. It was kinda tough back then. Certain defects would really knock a book down. I don't remember there being much forgiveness back then. From the current grading guide: "Certain defects allowed if other defects are not present" was not the case back in those days as I recall.
  9. I'm the same. I don't know if they are going to hammer the moderns mercilessly like they seem to have done in the past or be more forgiving like they seem to be with the S.A. and G.A..
  10. Classic! I hear that line every time I see a post from 01TheDude
  11. It's funny PointFive did a Lightening Round mini contest right before this one. No prizes, just for fun and I did well, almost kept up with Azkaban, but he won. I tied for second place.
  12. Thanks! For a moment it kinda took the edge off of my poor performance and early demise in this contest. Shopping for comics, always fun!
  13. The Assassin would have beat me on every round. I haven't scored above 60 yet (by my at home tally). Damn 6 bulls in the seeding round and only one since. I truly bombed on this one! I hope this will not be the last one!
  14. Haven't seen him around these parts before. But he's doin' pretty good! Better than me anyways. Scored a 60 and a 68 and a 67!
  15. if you click on it, it will enlarge. Makes for easier reading.
  16. Pretend grades in ...So that's where all the copies of Eternals #1 went. I had to go back and make sure I wasn't looking at the same book from the last few rounds.
  17. oooo the dreaded color touch?! I'll have to go back and take a look.
  18. Just imagine if you had a -script and the matching cover art or splash page framed together side by side. Reunited after 60 years! Now that would be an awesome pair! Truly the cherry on top of a Flash collection!
  19. This year my little prize is going to be one of the top prizes! Usually my prize is on one of the last picked. . (Up early today to see if I can get some TP. "Don't worry." Misti says casually last night: " If we run out of TP, you seem to have plenty of comics in the closet we could always use those, if worse came to worse."
  20. I'm still here, playing from home- grades in I've been out for 2 rounds now and I wouldn't have done well in the last round either so here goes nuthin'.
