  1. It really all depends.  I'm not a white page only collector and go off of presentation.  It is also case by case.  I've seen some white page books that don't present as well as others that actually look "bone white" (way over used of course).

A perfect example for me is Giant Size X-Men #1.  I've seen and held many copies of this book and a better percentage of white page copies actually present better even when graded because of that white cover.  I've also seen white page copies that show yellowing on the front cover.

There is probably data out there that shows that there is a small percentage value gain in a white pager over an off white page but again, it comes down to a personal preference and for me is a case by case basis.  Very similar to the debate of 9.6 vs 9.8 where there is an even more substantial value jump with debate on the real grading difference.

Not really, 99% of books sell for guide or less. Its just the keys, scarce GA and very high grade books that need a bit more attention but they aren't found aplenty in local comic shops anyway.

I get what he is saying.  Books jump in price and guides always miss the influx of pricing based on speculation, movie news, etc.  Even Overstreet has been way off on rare books or niche items like PCH.

  3. Brie Larson is a great actress but her performances in the MCU so far have been overwhelming.  I'm going to place that onto the directors/writers/etc. because she has shown her acting range in other movies in the same way I'd do that for Jared Leto in Suicide Squad.  I'm not going to let her personal comments previously sway my personal opinion on her acting skills as many have already done.  Judge her and the movies for what they are without the context of bringing in biases on her views as a person.  If you like it great, if you didn't then thatch fine as well.  I'm not even sure why some people keep commenting on this thread when they have zero interest in Captain Marvel 2.  I'm looking forward to it like I do with any upcoming MCU movie as it's bringing more comic characters and stories to life regardless of if I care about the characters or not.

and yet his feedback is so wonderful! (It is not)

I scrolled through some of his feedback and it really wasn't all that bad.  It seemed like some were common eBay complaints from buyers who complain about shipping costs (buyers who dont realize how expensive shipping can be) or a book not being a 9.8 (but not paying 9.8 prices).  The ratio is actually very good when you consider how much he has sold on there and how many of the complaints come from the same buyers.

Dylan seems like a nice enough person but I would say that he seems to lack a bit of emotional maturity especially in his on line dealings.  I have interacted with him once at a show and he was a pleasure to deal with.  He definitely should explain himself here but I'm going to assume that he's going to say that the pictures clearly showed the labels.  Definitely interested in seeing if he shows up here.  If he doesn't show up i'll shoot him a message.

How do you verify any single pages - carbon dating?

Entire golden age comics don't need carbon dating so why would a single page?  The feel, texture and look would be analyzed by the "expert" graders who can tell if it is actually from the comic.  I don't trust PGX like others have alluded to but i'd be more inclined if it was their newer style label as their grading and detection of problematic books did improve.  Reach out to PGX directly to make sure its a "real" page and then contact CGC to see what they'd say.  At the end of the day, none of us commenting here work for either company so go directly to the sources.

Can anyone confirm the census numbers for issue #1?  The description that I find appears to be referencing the Larry's copy for the top portion and some variant is below it but I can't think of any other variant other then the Larry's copy.  I'm assuming the top portion of the census is the original and the bottom section is the Larry's variant - anyone confirm?

    1st print - 10,751 (keycollector site #'s)

    1st print larrys convention - 1000 (keycollector site #'s)

I've heard around those #'s elsewhere also.

There's a few other reprint "variants" on #1 also: https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=454991

CGC does not authenticate autographs. The only way to get a Yellow label is to have CGC witness the signing. I would not send those books in if all you want is the signature verified.

Also, the answer to the COA question is that COAs are worthless and CGC says never send them in as they will not be slabbed with the book.

COA's are not worthless for raw books but of course they are when sending in already signed books to CGC.

If I really wanted a graded book already signed then i'd send it in to another grading copy along with a copy of the COA.

Another option is to have another CGC witnessed signature applied and you could then get a yellow/green label graded book with the book at least having 1 verified signature.

True but since this is an auction there was an under bidder willing to spend nearly as much.

I'm sure that A) the underbidder(s) have deep pockets or B) the underbidder was someone he is affiliated with to gain attention for him and his company.  Who knows.  Either way, pricing for cards has gone through the roof this year.  Certain modern basketball/baseball cards are selling for 10K+ regularly.

No one thinks 1st Oliver in #26 might be desired at some point?

I'm sure some people think so but again, I don't see 2nd tier characters holding value for a while.  That includes Oliver, Battle Beast, Allen, etc.

Maybe i'll be wrong but I don't see 1 season of an animated show bringing a huge uptick in value of these 1st apps.  Maybe if there's some sustained life in the series further than a couple of seasons of an animated show.  I'd absolutely snag these if you can under 10 bucks but I wouldn't run out at prices of 50-100+.  Again, that's just my opinion.  As much as we speculate, none of us REALLY know where the popularity and price of a book will land in the future.

  10. Invincible is a fantastic series that i'd recommend anyone reading.  I don't see many "keys" coming out of this series though and values holding steady/rising for #1 and any rare variants.

IMO #1 (1st print), #50 (2nd print) and #75 (1:50 variant) are the books to have.

I don't see the other 1st app's maintaining value over the long haul.  Allen is a cool character as is Battle Beast but I don't see value rising wild here especially with them not having cover 1st apps.

Side note, I think people should only refer to #110 as a controversial issue as I had it spoiled reading the series in 2020.  Sure, it's many years old but some people show up very late to reading a series and it's not really necessary to throw that spoiler out there.
