  1. Going off -script here.. but I really want a mystery box so I hope it is a good one!! fingers crossed @Norrin Radd
  2. in the reveal content that pops up every few posts
  3. Well sir... if everyone has 5 minutes and there are 60+ picks 60x5 =300 minutes. 300 minutes is 5 hours at least
  4. BTW- THANK YOU to the organizers... this is one of my favorite parts of the holidays!
  5. Lol.. great pick up .. as you can tell I was hoping it was an error
  6. Just when I thought my OA year was over:.. my family blew me away with 3 pieces for the holidays!! Nate Stockman 90s X-men, an incredible Declan Shalvey splash from return of Wolverine.. and a fun Scott Koblish piece from Marvel Adventures Iron Man w/ Alpha Flight... still stunned they did this and pulled it off!
  7. I just re read it.. and forgetting about the piece you mentioned. My point is that as I noted on most dealer sites that is the norm above comps on "good" material. SO my question to you is are dealers engaging in optimistic pricing? For example, on romitaman (sorry but it is off the top of my head and something I am more versed in) there was a Silvestri run Uncanny page for 1500 (which sold in a matter of days) yet if you look at auction results and such they seem to be running 500-1000 depending on content... so there is the exact spread you spoke of as opportunistic pricing. Hence if dealers are doing it.. and moving the pieces wouldn't that then indicate that that is the market?
  8. So 40/50% over what you think is market price? I think you can go onto a list of dealers websites and find tons of pieces in that range. Does that make the dealers out there all optimistic pricers? Are they not moving pieces? I have paid 40% over what I think is perceived market on pieces I loved... and the other issue is what is available on the market at your perceived value .. these are not slabbed comics where you can google ten of the same available at any time.
  9. Your situation stinks... and I myself had a small problem with them on a piece being delayed but later found out it was a real life situation that caused that. and have since had a few very pleasant transactions. In your case this really sounds like the piece was not finished by the artist in the time it was supposed to and they were trying to protect/deflect until they got it. Just like us when we commission a piece directly they are at the mercy of the talent...obviously they should have better recourse being the rep but the talent still has to produce. But we need to see it now!!
  10. I am fairly new to this and Vess is out of my wheelhouse all together (although I do know there are a lot of sandman fans out there) so do not be offended by my question here. If the page you mentioned went for 3500 in 2016, 4 years ago, is that the most recent comp you can find? and you say this one is better... what do you think a reasonable number for it would be? the market has seemed to change quite a bit in these last 4 years (that ASM 300 page in the recent comiclinc comes to mind).
  11. If I didn't just look at my CC bills for the hollidays it would not have
  12. A simple Jae Lee sketch of the one and only Wolverine that I have. On Caf it is a colussus by Tom Raney.. see a theme ?
  13. It looks incredible!!! I love it and so Happy it went to you so you could improve it! When you said you where adding to the back, it gave me an idea on one of my own.. it is with the artist now, hopefully it turns out as good as yours.
