  1. I would try the LCS and let them determine.. mentioning why you are there (your store closing) and you are an adult as you said you have been going to the store you frequent for 30 years. If they refuse that is up to them, but at least you are trying to support a local store and it is not an obscure title. I am in a similar boat as you, I actually stopped buying new books altogether for about 6 years. When they rebooted Uncanny X-men last year I was intrigued and went back to just buy that book my store welcomed me back buying one book a month and I have wound up picking some other stuff here or there now because I am in the store and something catches my eye,
  2. Being outside of NYC my choice in cons is very diverse... I love the little JP shows that happen every month for comic buying and have become good friends with many of the normal attendees and dealers. On the bigger shows (ones that have a more significant cost to attend) the first thing I look at is the artist list, because if that list is good the dealers will come. I also seem to enjoy the mid size shows better- I think East Coast and Terrificon have both been mentioned ( very sad I can not make terrificon this year) those are a couple of my favorites, Also Big Apple Con Garden State and the Growing Suffolk Art show. The Mega Shows are cool and I have enjoyed Both NYCC and C2E2 but they are very cost prohibitive to just attend (the GF likes to come) and I find because of the massive crowds... at least for me from what I want to get out of a con the time spent in lines for creators and CGC mitigate the fun of the show. I flew out to C2E2 to wind up spending most of my "comic money" with @bedrockcomics who I already new and shopped with via the forum and Anthony's Comic Art which I usually wind up at his warehouse here a couple times a month!
  3. Midtown is I think 15% off cover and cheap shipping... I think they have a pull program too. But Aren't there quite a few LCS on the island?
  4. Scott- you didn't get one of the parts of the original???
  5. I saw this when you posted it on insta or twitter , I think it is fantastic! And personally love homage covers. I think even though it is obviously based off one of the most recognizable comic images out there, you add your own flair to each character and the overall setting! I even considered bugging you to see if you were selling! Glad to see you doing more and more covers-
  6. Fun day at Garden state Comic Fest: picked up my Namor commission from Stroman. Then made a good deal on 2 pieces from Anthony - a Paul Smith Phoenix (I have been after something from him for a while ) and a cool later Excalibur Eaglesham page.
  7. I am seriously thinking about doing a SA Xmen undercopy sale now...lol
