  1. Action Comics #19, CGC 2.5 Off White, 1939 The book has amazing color for an 84 year old comic. It's from the "Evelyn Collection" . The cover is detached and there are date stamps. There is some tape which I probably could have removed, but I figured it was fine as is. Pages are nice. The book has not been pressed nor cleaned while in my possession and the former owner never pressed or cleaned any of their books. There have been only 2 sales that I could find for this year. An .05 for $1500 and a 1.0 for $2146. That prorates to $6076 if my math is correct (which isn't always guaranteed which is why I'm posting the numbers. Bin is $5950
  2. I don't normally keep brittle books if I find them, but I HAVE slabbed a few books that did not seem to be brittle anywhere, only for them to come back "slightly brittle" ...so I'm iffy about those. I also don't buy cream/ow colored books with spine rolls, I had one of those but when it was opened up, every page was split. (I bought it thinking I'd have the spine roll flixed).
  3. I know some people have been expecting more discounts, I don't plan on discounting any more. If you think my price is off and you have a reasonable counter, please PM me., otherwise anything that does not sell is going to go to an auction house next week (unless I get mushy and pull one or two;) Most of these are pretty scarce, so it's hard to figure out things exactly...at least for me;)
  4. Jungle Comics #105, CGC 9.2 (old label) OW/W 1948 there are 22 on the census Okajima Pedigree John Celardo, Maurice Whitman,, August Froehlich and Matt Baker art This is a very nice looking 9.2, it was graded in 2001. Bin is $2250 Prices are all over the place for these, I'm guessing it's either too low or too high, but I researched and threw half the sales out.
  5. Venus #1, CGC 2.5 Off-White, 1st Venus,Timely 1948 Sold to Dr. Balls Cover is detached 37 blue labels on the Census Bin is $1,177.00 The pictures in blue were taken outside, they can look faded, the ones taken under my desk ...first time I figured that one out;) have a better representation of the colors, they are not touched up.
  6. I love love love Tom Hiddleston...I could watch him dance for an hour. As a matter of fact, they should have had him dancing. The time slipping was annoying, redoing the same thing 1,000 times was boring...and I was disappointed in the end. I actually liked Secret Invasion better. I liked Black Adam a LOT better
  7. Next and last book for tonight is Mary Marvel #1, CGC 4.0 OW, 1945 Origin of George Sivana There is pencil on the logo that was never removed and I'm pretty sure the grade was marked down for it. Prices are honestly all over the place on this book. A .5 sold for $1140 last Dec, but some of the higher numbers work out to less. My bin on this book is $1295.00, figuring the .5 was some kind of wild outlier...if it wasn't, you'll be getting a super super bargain here su
  8. Batman #20, CGC 1.8 OW/W pages, Cover is detached. There is some tape. 1944, Joker appearance and the 1st Batmobile cover. a 1.5 sold in July for $1250, if I prorate the price, I come up with $1500. Bin here is $1400.00
  9. Maybe people who are not familiar with how the character looked when drawn by other artists, think it's some kind of expressionistic or pop art? Heritage has a ton of art collector clients. This went for $165 million...
  10. I'm not a tax expert, but I'm married to one. He won't comment, he says that you should contact your own tax advisor.. So I would suggest talking to an expert. I know when I ran charity threads, if a 501c3 registered charity, I had the donor pay the charity directly. The person donating money got the "write off" If you were donating goods, it would have had to go to the charity and if they were a registered charity, they could give you a receipt. If I gathered funds from friends and write a check to the Red Cross, I'm the one who gets the tax receipt....not my friends. I am not a charity, I can't give someone a receipt. Maybe it works differently in Canada. If it was just a helping charity thread with no formal designation, no one could take it off their taxes, you were just helping out. It's not easy to get charitable status. I didn't read to see if Roy's charity had that.
  11. You might want to check that out with an accountant, or IRS. If you are the one "cutting the check" I'm also not sure it matters that much to anyone since the charitable donation rules have changed...but it might to a couple of people
  12. I'm going to add one book tonight, and perhaps a few others tomorrow night. The following books are NOT discounted, prices are as marked. All Great Comics #13, CGC 4.0 OW/W. Fox Features 1947 This is the Cosmic Aeroplance copy. Fox Features and scarce, there are only 17 total on the census I have several pictures because of the glare, the pictures were taken in outdoor light. Bin is $1400.00
