  1. First book is Batman 5. A very cool Batman that is getting harder to find and becoming even more of a treasure, which means prices are Grade was 4.0 (R) This book was slabbed, marked restored. I bought it from a boardie who opened it and did not keep the label. He's a very trustworthy boardie who stated that the book was not marked trimmed. I can see wheat paste, a tiny bit of color touch (a line on the circle), the cover was reinforced, so was the centerfold and there are spine split sealed. I'm guessing it's supposed to be professional resto, but the wheat paste was not painted on by an artist. The cover was cleaned. I do not see any pieces added, although there is a very tiny piece fill on the front cover, about 1/8th of an inch or less. I think the front cover was cleaned, but I'm no expert. Pages are very nice. Bin is $1200 SOLD! The 2nd picture was taken with only daylight, but there is a shadow from my window (it was too cold to stand outside and shoot pictures... The 2nd picture shows the true colors better.
  2. Welcome to my small sale of beautiful old books. The Pep is from the Evelyn Collection. I take Checks, Zelle Pay, Money Orders and Paypal. Payment is due within 3 days unless we have made other arrangements prior to you posting a "Take it". Shipping is Priority mail (probably cubic) and U.S. shipping is included in the price. Out of the U.S. shipping is whatever it costs me to send it to you priority (I will only ship priority out of the U.S. for these books) First whether it's in this thread or a PM wins, I determine the winner, posting on this thread would break any tie, or question. I take returns for any reason, but you must notify me within 3 days of receipt and return the book within the following 3 days. Shipping would be at your cost, and the books must be shipped the way I sent them to you.
  3. It's not about comic books, it's kind of a personal thing, isn't it? Especially when you start talking about YOU causing the traffic...I just figured that if you were banned from the water cooler by our hosts, maybe you should respect their rules? First of all, it's kind of a negative against our hosts...are they perfect? No one is, but I'm here because they host the site so I try to be respectful...I am happy that they host the site. I'm not sure anyone else posts these constant threads about the forums being an issue...maybe I missed them if they did.
  4. Well, that's my point...if someone is banned from the water cooler, why try turning CG into the water cooler?
  5. I'm still trying to figure out why this thread is in CG?
  6. Maybe... Some of those threads were so long that you had to be a hermit to have the time to read them;) that might have helped, too;) I thought Kav would have been back by now. He was never mean...
  7. I'll be listing 3 GA books tomorrow night around 8pm. I had planned to do some today, but like a lot of other people, I'm just a little busy. There will be a Pep, an early Batman and a Timely.
  8. I keep hearing one or two people saying things have slowed down here, that SO many people left. I think the OP mentions this often. However, we had a thread to help DJPinkpanther's family last summer and all kinds of people who supposedly disappeared showed up. So my guess is, life for many of us is just plain busy. I know I check the forum on my phone a lot more than I do on my computer, because I'm now used to my phone (something that has happened over the past 6-7 years...but I type 90wpm on a laptop and about 12 WPM badly on a phone. So less posts...maybe I'm not alone...many of us aren't at desks as often, but there is still a community here, which is why a lot of us stay.
  9. Very sorry to hear this, condolences to the family...let me know if we can help.
  10. Have a wonderful Day to all...and please drop by for leftovers tomorrow;)!
  11. I saw it on HBO tonight and thought it was charming. Is it new, refreshing material? No, but it was entertaining...and had some laughs. Nana was the best;)
  12. Very nice books, Tim...I know you bought some of those off the rack, beautiful collection. Looking forward to seeing more.
  13. If it's a dating app, I think they are probably embellishing while fishing for dates. Speaking as one of the female majority here, I've never needed a male to make me feel like a woman..never dreamt about a strong male. Except for one time when I was 5 and I found out boys could write in the snow and I could not, I've never thought of males as anything other than equals. I'm waiting to see the Marvels till they are on TV, main reason is, despite trying to watch Captain Marvel twice, my favorite character was the Cat.
  14. Last book for this thread, but not certainly no th least. Thrilling Comics #2, CGC 5.5 WHITE pages 1940 I think of this book as a being special in 3 ways. First of all, it was from the collection of Jon Berk, who sadly passed away recently. 2nd it's a Larson Pedigree. But there is a third thing that is special. It's the first appearance of the "Woman in Red" Peggy Allen. She was the first masked female crime fighter, one of the earliest superheroines. Bin is $9500.00
  15. Book is withdrawn from the sale till further notice. Jumbo Comics #16, CGC 2.0 1940, Off White Pages, Fiction House There are 19 Blue Labels on the Census. Eisner, Tuska and Powell art, LIghtning Cover. Cover is detached, another treasure from the Evelyn collection. Her husband was an engineer and amateur artist, he collected the books, he was always looking for great colors, didn't care about the grade. Bin is $575
