  1. Go buy the Boody book by Craig Yoe -- only about $14 at amazon when I bought it. You'd be lucky to find one beater original for that price. The Babe stories are utterly bizarre. Jack
  2. From drskull9 on ebay? I remember him describing that bizarre find. skypinkblu probably does too. I bought constantly from him back in the day, at least on the rare occasions when Sharon didn't outbid me. Jack PS: Was there more than one "White Ants" collection or are we talking about the same one? Your description says CA. Maybe more than one seller had them -- drskull9 sells out of PA, I believe.
  3. The MRI horror! "We're going to slide you into this tube for an hour. Don't move your legs or we'll have to start over. Would you like us to play you Adult Contemporary or staticky Country Music to keep you relaxed?" Jack
  4. WHOOOOO!! Good ol' Matt Fox --- what a bizarre imagination. The skin texture on the woman (I guess) monster is incredible. It's my favorite of the bunch. I'm trying to figure out why you like the Ghost Stories better. There must be a subtlety that I'm missing. Jack
  5. Wow -- the elephant almost looks like Doctor Seuss! Jack
  6. Some flea market! Which other copy did you get? Fantastic feature -- #35 goes on the want list. Jack
  7. WOW -- and element covers too! I don't recall seeing #10 before. In fact, I didn't even realize that Iron Jaw was a Nazi villain. I wonder why Biro changed the jaw style so much on your other #10 -- I mean #11. It's even creepier that way. Congrats on a great set! Jack
  8. Possibly the worst super-power ever! Beautiful copy of a black-cover book though. Jack
  9. Not a promotional comic book, but an interesting bit of history that came with a batch of GE Adventure Series/ Adventures in Science that I bought a while back. I hope it's legible. Has anyone ever seen Math at General Electric General Electric's Answer to Three Whys? I have a bad feeling that I won't get copies if I write to that address. Jack PS Easier to read
  10. Doesn't Rick own a #2? I thought you guys shared everything. he does; but the label notes that it's full of cooties. So you DO share everything! Jack just because i'm mean to gator doesn't mean you should be mean to me, jack. and after i let you post 7 favorites a day on my thread! how rude. I'm hanging my head in shame. Jack 7 isn't enough? feel free to do more on q day. Quasar is a Golden Age title, right? Jack

  13. Kudos to: CycloneComics for Jeep Comics #1 Leffingwell,1944 VG+, shipped south of the border and BigMike for Lot of Three Golden Age Books -- Ace Comics # 57, Magic Comics # 23 and King Comics #61. Both Nik auctions. Fast and efficient. Jack
  14. Fantastic chemistry cover! High on my want list but too pricey. Fortunately I found scans. Jack
  15. How come your photos never come up when I wanna quote you Scrooge??? It kills my rabid appreciation for some of your stuff when I can't show the book..... Right-click (or Mac control-click) his attachment, copy location, plug it in as an image. Jack kwazy wabid
  16. That character in the lower left corner looks like Herge's TinTin.....with more hair I think the same whenever I see him -- never read a story though. Not to mention the resemblance of Bozo to the Michelin Man. He cracks me up with that fixed mechanical grin. Jack
  17. I just bought that book! Not an astonishing 9.6 like yours -- mine was only a buck. Jack
  18. I got this one from you in June Well then -- I have one fewer than I thought! The dreaded Mile High Comics was useful for some sub-200 holes. Jack
  19. WOW! I have one of those, but it's so delicate that I can't scan a page. Yours looks very solid. What a classic! Captain Marvel? Jack
  20. Bruce Andrson must have been quite a Four Color fan -- I have several of his. Too bad he didn't stop to buy an "e". Great haul -- keep 'em coming! Jack
  21. Thanks for posting those. As I mentioned, I have about 10+ I need to scan to fill holes, just need to find the time + I picked up 55 FCs at Chicago Con so I probably will have a couple more filling holes. This is the result of the best $3 I've spent this year at the show THREE FREAKIN' DOLLARS! If you were were a true gentleman, you would have let Sharon at the boxes first. It sounds like Chicago was a roaring success for Four Color hunting. Congrats! Jack
  22. On my one and only trip to Paris I decided to skip the Louvre for lack of time, but really enjoyed having more time to spend in the wonderful Musée d'Orsay. I did zip quickly through Notre Dame, but that was so I could spend more time in the smaller but (in my opinion) more intense Sainte-Chapelle. (I've got to get back!) Thanks for the link -- interesting article. I suppose the comic-book equivalent is looking only at covers. Jack
  23. Bon Jour! Not a very nice review. They like him better in Belgium I bet. They were pretty flattering about Burrough's artwork on that one Sunday page though. Jack
