  1. Picked up this mini collection this week. No its not an illusion, there are 4 copies of FF #49 in this set. Dont get too excited, the FF 48 has cutouts inside but a near perfect cover. Will be posting individually in PGM thread soon! you can view the video here https://1drv.ms/v/s!AsDdrq8cLwnQiY89OrF7-DyymUrA4w?e=ygOYzW
  2. This is a great topic. Never knew it existed. my most recent block: mathom46 Because he tried to negotiate combined shipping after he paid. My listings clearly state $2 extra per additional listing. I have no problem trying to negotiate before you pay. In any case I was nice enough to reduce his shipping, and then he comes back and says for that price I should ship it Priority. Yeah I cancelled the $50 order and blocked him.
  3. Havent posted in a while. Are eBay comic book sales down the last 6 months or so? I only sell on eBay, more out of convenience and time constraints. I feel every search I do on terapeak these days there in much less sales history than during covid. Is anybody else feeling it? (not sure if this was covered in a previous post so apologize if it was)
  4. Thanks for all the valuable input guys! My interest is not in keeping them. Its strictly business, selling them at a fair price in my ebay store. The ones Ive gone through so far fall into that $5-10 range based on book value + $5 a signature.
  5. Yes based on my little research so far that seems to be the going rate. Unless I come across a Jim Lee, McFarlane, etc.
  6. All Raw - purchased from an a collector who is well connected with artists so Im confident not fake autos.
  7. I recently purchased a collection which included a lot of signed modern books. Im not so familiar with the newer artists. Is there a rule of thumb on how much value is added to a signed book? Obviously it would depend on the artist as well. Here are just a hand full of names Ive come across.. Amy Chu, William Tucci, Steve Niles, Brent Peebles, Collen Bunn, and many more Any advice is appreciated
  8. thanks for your kind offer, but I live in NY, and like most New Yorkers we have space issues. Thats why I bought a 10x12 press. Im determined to figure this out and then make my own YouTube video for multiple books and blow away all the other guys.. haha..
  9. I decided to make a small investment and play around with pressing at home. I was thinking I could press a few books a day, so I watched a bazillion videos on youtube, many with their own twist on the perfect way to press, and understandable. What I didnt understand is that the overwhelming majority of the videos make this an overnight process. That would mean that if I had 50 books to press and only 1 press, I would need 50 days to press them? That cant be right. CGC , CBCS would never survive. Im sure they own several presses but still this cannot be an overnight process for each book. Can somebody shed some light?
  10. Does anybody have a quicker way to list individual comics on ebay? Ive been wanting to discuss this for a while..Id like to share what I do and get your feedback. First a take a pile of books that are already separated by title and number, for example, 15 actions comics random #s, 15 batman etc. I have an master excel where I create a title | character count column for 80 characters | custom label (Batman 525) | and BIN price As I create the title I also do my grading, so its all in the same step. After Im done with 50-60 books, I take pictures | label the file the same as the custom label (Batman 525.jpg) I then crop and fix the images. Then I put them in new bags and boards and put them in an inventory location like Box #5, and add that to the custom label (Batman 525 Box#5), so I can find it when i make the sale. Last step now that everything is stored away, I list the books on ebay using the excel sheet for copy and paste into each ebay listing, one by one The last step is the killer. Years ago, when I sold jewelry, I used to use Turbo Lister , but I keep hearing its not supported anymore. Can I just use it for listing? Im kind of scared to sync it with my store and screw something up. Any other services or ideas?
  11. Here is a lot of 25 Signed Independent Comics from the last 20 years or so. I have no idea who the artists are, and in many cases it looks like fly by night comic companies. The original owner of these books went to a lot of conventions and small shows and knew a lot of artists. Its all from one collector. Hey maybe one of these guys may make it (or croak) one day and you'll have some rare early signed copy. Price $100 shipped (OBO) 1st or better offer gets it, whether PM or on thread – I go by time stamp. Payment: Prefer Venmo or Zelle. Paypal also ok. Returns: These lots are sold as-is. No returns, please. Thanks in advance for your understanding. Condition of Books – Most were read and handled slightly, nothing super low or super high grade These will all come in new bags and boards
  12. Does anyone know when Todd Mcfarlane will have another CGC signing?
  13. I met a Dylan once. from queens? same guy? Tried to sell me a pallet of Bronze age.
  14. lol, i have about 1200 books to list still before i get to this collection, hopefully before spring.
  15. ...and thank you all for the encouragement, I was legit 50/50 on what to do. Thats why these forums are great!
  16. Well purchase was made! 8 long boxes, 11 short boxes. He had one box that was cherry picked items according to him, so I kept that one for my home, the rest I put in storage until I get around to sorting the lot, maybe late spring. Here are 3 books from that one box , which basically pay for the purchase itself! So I think I did ok. I'll show some more from that box as I go through it later this week.
  17. great info thanks, good tro know in case i come across in the future. I have 3 different copies, I have no idea if there are any good stories. I guess I'll throw them up on ebay and see what happens.
  18. Anybody know if these magazines have any value? Says 1989 Petit magazine comic. I have 3 volumes..
  19. yes space. thats what i was thinking. but I'll figure it out, somehow I always magically find space that I didnt know existed.
  20. I usually first sort by similar titles - Stage 1: for example ASM, peter parker, spidey 2099, marvel tales, etc all go in one box. Stage 2 : I re-sort into exact titles and in number order.
  21. Thanks - it seems he was a gentle handler - everything is bagged from the 10 minutes i spent in his basement. ok I think im gonna do it. will keep you guys posted. The other thing holding me back is that this guy would purchase weekly, read it, bag it, and put in a box, but he never organized by title! So I literally need to have several boxes open at once and start a sorting process of 4000 books.
  22. Question for seasoned dealers if there are any on here.. I have a dilemma, I buy collections to sell for the most part. I now have an opportunity to buy a collection of mid 80s to 1998 not later, for pennies...about 4000 books. Not cherry picked, person is giving me everything, says some ASM 300 and some signed stuff included and lots of Marvel. Not my favorite eras, I definitely prefer mid 80s , 70s 60s etc. My dilemma is that a collection this size would limit my ability to buy a better collection should it come along, and it would take me a good 6 months to sell off on ebay. Is it worth the time and effort? I know very little about this era, and value per book.
  23. Looking for an affordable presser that does good work, honest and reliable. Can be in the NYC area or I'll ship to them. You can PM me or share on this chat. If they can send to CBCS or CGC after pressing that would be a plus. TIA.
  24. I was wondering if anybody has experience buying Comics from Canada, and in particular the customs duty/taxes. I'm talking bulk, like a few short boxes...
