  1. Far too many people in this hobby think that buying a press and watching a few youtube videos makes them an expert on pressing. It's pathetic
  2. Yes I still am baffled by that. I'm completely dumbfounded by it. I just don't get it. Must be nice to have that kind of scratch
  3. I would respectfully suggest you re-read the thread because I don't think you got the message out of it that you think you did.
  4. That's pretty much what the Hulk was back then
  5. Nothing wrong with Coletta as long as you don't mind him obliterating entire Kirby backgrounds and characters. Yes, he was useful in terms of getting books out on time, which matters, but his work speaks for itself. That said, he WAS capable of doing very solid professional work, which makes it sad that the majority of his career would be spent being nothing more than a publisher friendly hack. Not only Kirby but any penciler he worked over. He did a hatchet job (yes my opinion but also the opinion of many others) on every piece he worked on. He was fast and apparently he was valuable as a guy who could get book done on time but fast doesn't equate to quality. To be fair, some of his 50's work isn't bad but by the time he got to the 70s? Uh no. Just no.
  6. Sals' stuff is not everyone's cup of tea but I've always liked his work at least until the mid/later 80s when his style on Thor and Spec Spidey got much more angular. His 70s and early 80s work is, for me, quintessential Marvel. Having said that, prolific output is not necessarily a criteria for "god" status. Colletta's output was massive too and...... well.....
  7. I would think that buyers chasing “ghost” books are quite familiar with the CGC census I have a ghost book
  8. You should watch the newer one, the 2003-2009 series was great and still stands out I think. Just wait till they reboot this series again at some point! You’ll wish you hadn’t sold this. Before then he can just pick up some of the bazillion other copies of this book that are out there.
  9. I didn’t realize this was an aggressive back-and-forth sorry if that’s how it’s coming off. The feedback is relevant because I wanted to point out that it isn’t stubbornness but more a response to feedback and packing being well received with the use of the tape. So I’m not sure peoples individual complaints reflect the market as a whole, at least in my experience I'm not sure that ebay feedback reflects the market as a whole either. There is such a thing as using too much tape and/or packing too securely. I've done it. I don't do it anymore. People sing the praises of painters tape but I've seen that tape fail as well and rip. There's no right or wrong way unless something goes horribly wrong in shipping then there is a wrong way.
  10. I'd leave a neutral. "Book was packaged in generic brand cereal box. Paid for premium." You just can't trust a seller who ships in a knock off box. I mean, who would you trust? The guy who shipped in this box? Or this one?
  11. How about a cereal box plus Saran Wrap? Boxed in a knock off of rice crispies. Red flag right there
  12. Yeah but you do see rippling in the raw photo. Should have had it pressed I guess.
  13. If it was not mailed in a cereal box, then it's not at the top of my crazy list;) I always double box my cereal boxes just to be safe
  14. Using the dewey decimal system is all well and good, but is there a way to get CGC to properly grade and encapsulate comics like they used to? Asking for a friend. The CGC boards is no place for sane and reasonable suggestions. P'shaw, I say. P'shaw!
  15. I propose we add .1 increments to every grade. 9.81 9.82 9.83 9.84 9.85, etc. you get the idea. We need more granularity and people need to know the difference between and 9.8 and and 9.82 Also, let's take CGC grading to 11 because 10 simply isn't good enough. This post approved by Nigel Tufnel
  16. Bigger is better. My wife tells me all the time.😎 The question is.....
  17. Thank you! Yes, I have been looking for one for a while with that purple. I'll play.
  18. Lightning? Why are you taking pictures when there’s lightning? 8.5/9.0 CGC hammers lightning damage 4.0
  19. That Batmobile is one of the Batmobiles owned by Batman
  20. Well, you can join again! For a limited time Kramerica Industries is offering membership to WAM as well as a % of our Oil Bladder System. Can I swap out the oil bladder for a bottle of The Beach?
  21. Agreed. So, it seems that every thread or post this person created has a video. I am going to add a rule to the terms of use. From now on, if I see a pattern that users are solely using this site to promote their videos, they will be flagged as a spammer. Very good. Thank you
