  1. Seems like a lot of people will try to come up with formulas to figure out how many of a certain variant exist based on whatever criteria they choose but it really all comes down to in some cases an educated, or perhaps a somewhat logical guess. In other cases, it's a less educated guess and even in some cases, they are just pulling numbers out of their posterior. The only ones who truly know are industry insiders.
  2. I don't have an answer beyond if CGC sends it back to you unslabbed, then that's too much overhang. Also, you can protect a comic just fine with mylar and an acid free backer board. It's a lot cheaper than sending to a slabbing company and you don't have to wait months or even over a year to get it back
  3. There are quite a few https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?q=magic+the+gathering&pubid=&PubRng=
  4. It's not a manufacturing defect. It has nothing to do with the manufacturing of the comic. It's distributor's overspray. A common practice at the time was for comic distributors to spray comics with ink along edges.
  5. Not GA, although I did dabble in some Atlas pre-code horror, but I did get all of my OA pieces. Modest stuff by the standards of the big boys but its appreciated nicely over the years.
  6. That's where the concept of "outlier" comes in. It's easy to disregard outliers. Once you do that, the average becomes more like an accurate average. Of course, nothing is perfect. That goes without saying
  7. They added many new people over the last few years. The last time I got the guide several years ago I looked over the advisor list and thought to myself, who are all these people? I still don't know who they are. I'd love to know the criteria they use to pick advisors.
  8. My guess is he reached it or he'd still be going. I was hoping it was longer
  9. How did they do that since no one has ever landed on the moon. It was all faked
  10. If we all banded together to get rid of the moon it would solve our werewolf problem. Maybe Mr Burns has a device
  11. loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool Do they even have a character limit on usernames?
  12. Prices on AD&D/D&D stuff has been going through the roof for a few years now. Unless it's something ultra high grade or in shrinkwrap I can't imagine slabbing having much of dramatic effect on mid to lower grade TSR products. If you just want to read/use, it will be more economical to buy the PDFs on Drivethrurpg.com
  13. It's yet another new revenue stream so why not grade them? All I can say is I hope they have someone on the grading team who is an expert in TSR products.
  14. Not sure how I feel about this. I suppose it's good(??) that they are trying to keep Sgt Rock viable https://tripwiremagazine.co.uk/headlines/nothins-easy-in-dc-horror-presents-sgt-rock-vs-the-army-of-the-dead/
  15. I'm confident that you can take it out of the car and put it back in the car while retaining the 9.0 grade. Just make sure you don't snag it on the seat belt strap. Good luck
  16. Good points here. For those issues that have limited sales data, Overstreet is as valid as anything. Additionally, I still see small dealers using it at local cons. As long as it's still being used as a price guide it has some relevance. Nowhere near the relevance it once has as the "bible" of the hobby but it's still there in a small way. These days, ebay completed sales might be your best gauge.
  17. Focus on quality instead of quantity. When I was first collecting seriously I was an accumulator. I liked walking out of a comic con with a ton of books. If I had it to do over, I'd go for keys instead.
  18. Take these please at 25% off
