  1. One thing to remember is that Spidey is always pulling his punches. He’s much stronger than Logan. He’s faster than Logan. He can dodge bullets. If he can dodge bullets, surely he can stay out of reach of Wolvie’s pigstickers. I thought it was awesome at the time. Spidey kicking some X-butt However, much like the aforementioned Spidey / Firelord fight, it all comes down to what the writer intended. I can't envision any scenario where Spider-Man could punch Firelord into unconsciousness, even if it was great to see happen
  2. I like you Rick but my wallet doesn't. Never heard a wallet growl before
  3. There are newspapers from the 1800s that are still fresh and supple. Proper storage conditions for paper is what's needed. A "slab" is not.
  4. I call BS. No it's true. And then the company folded. Gee, I wonder why.
  5. Years ago I sold a ST 178 at a VCC for what amounts today as pennies by comparison. I then found another high grade copy at a local show (for pretty much pennies) a few weeks later.
  6. Looks like distributer ink to me. Although it looks a bit odd. One little dot like that If it is then it shouldn't affect the grade on this book.
  7. Depends on if it's production related or not.
  8. Under this particular circumstance, where many people said they'll "ask for an extension", agree to disagree. I worked customer service when I was in college and a few years after. I know first hand about the frustration that comes with the job. After a while it becomes difficult not to respond that way. I did it once and had the guy threaten to come down to my place of employment and "phil's parking lot" me. I was wrong 100% not him and I should have known better than to respond in the way that I did. Customer service 101. You do that enough times and you get fired.
  9. Couldn't agree more but it will likely fall on deaf ears as hundreds thousands more submissions flow into CGC's offices in the coming weeks, despite the price increase, despite the complaints about the sluggishness of their website, despite the moderation on their message board, despite their shoddy QA, etc, etc, etc. What's CGC's motivation to change when the keeps flowing in.
  10. Paul deals almost exclusively with jabronis in the Trading Card arena. I cannot fault him 1 bit for his "tone". While I do empathize with anyone having to deal with what he has to deal with here on a daily basis, that was not an appropriate way for a customer service rep to respond.
  11. Really? Are you telling me that CGC couldn't have foreseen a substantial increase in the number of submissions prior to the price raising deadline? If that is what you are saying, it only makes them look more incompetent. I'm not telling you anything. If you re-read what I said they could have dropped the ball on this and maybe they have but not having internal access to their operation I'm not going to automatically accuse them of incompetence. I have my feelings about it though. They certainly can be better in many ways. Slab QA for one. A lot of people around here talk like they have all the answers when in fact all they are doing is talking out of their hindquarters.
  12. How would you know that? I certainly don't. It's not unusual for websites to get overloaded by unexpected volume. It doesn't automatically mean they've dropped the ball on this. They could have but I have no way of knowing that and neither do you.
  13. When confused or torn between the two go with trading cards. That's all new drama. People like you and I have seen this drama play out already. It's getting a little repetitive though. New card guy making the same complaint as 15 other card guys. They need a new angst.
  14. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. In the old days asking for a custom title was sure way not to get one.
