Thanks for heads up, will be purchasing this. Just one slight correction, this isn’t all of them, this set is 12 posters out of 24 originals.

there were variations some solid plastic colours like yours others like the version I have was painted .
I understand the painted coloured versions were sold in blister packs of two characters and are much rarer than the solid one colour ones. The painting looks really well done.

Is a book with a cents price, later run over (by hand, given the movement?) with a UK price a UKPV?
I noticed that the “7p” moved left or tight in alignment with the price blackout, suggesting that both were done together with a single stamp - manual or automated. Not sure it’s of any interest though.

Not as rare as the Marx figure shown previous by @Subby1938 but here’s a Sub-mariner figure by Brazilian (I believe) company Gulliver;

I’ve included pictures of my baby blue Namor and to give it scale included a picture with my rare Canadian Exclusive Thor MARX in silver .
Don’t want to side track this thread away from Subby, but I’m a fan of MMMS and Marvelmania memorabilia however being in UK it’s extremely rare and I have no first hand knowledge of it; my understanding was the silver Marx set was the 1970 re-issue for Marvelmania fan club - is there another silver set/thor?
Subby figure is super cool.

I always loved the Backgrounds by Hunt snuck into the pages
I didn’t know about the XXs until you pointed it out in this thread a few months ago, it adds a bit of fun looking for them. I still have it in mind to make a note of all the “backgrounds by Mortellaro”I’ve started re-reading essential Spider-Man so when I get to the Romita issues I’ll grab a pen and paper.

Actually, in the incident I mentioned earlier, when I started the process somewhere it said after 4 days you can cancel for non-payment, and after 4 days that option did get added.
Many thanks for info. I’ll look again when I get next non-payer (I’m sure there will be one), could be UK and US are different but last two cancellations I’ve had to make didn’t have non payment as a reason.
As previous I set preferences to block potential time wasters with a history of non payment from bidding. -
This is what eBay UK says, I guess US is the same?
“Failure to pay for items is a violation of our abusive buyer policy. All unpaid items are recorded on a buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid items, or cancelled transactions, may have limits imposed, or lose their buying privileges.”
Who knows how many “excessive unpaid items” constitutes. And seller can no longer report cancellation is due to being unpaid so reliance on eBay to recognise and match cancellation and no payment.

I’m in UK so settings may be different but I don’t think they are;
BIN; as suggested above put your settings to immediate payment.
Auction; after 2 days of non payment I send reminder, eBay will also send a reminder. After 4 days you can cancel the transaction because of non payment. You used to report non payers but now eBay claim they automatically put a strike against non-payer when a transaction is cancelled after 4 days with out payment.
Settings, selling preferences; I have mine so that anyone with two or more non-payment strikes can not bid.

apologies if I am repeating something that I found on here in the first place but I think it was actually an amazon recommendation instead where I learned of it., Alan Austin's memoir - a bargain at 77p on Kindle, I've just started reading it and am enjoying it, I read his interesting fiction collection on the adventures of a secondhand bookdealer which I can also recommend first - I'm sure the main participants here are aware of it but some people enjoying the thread may not be
Wasn’t aware, thanks for tip. Will be ordering this - I wasn’t a regular reader of fantasy/comics unlimited but I did buy (and still have) Alan’s price guides and index’s.

In the late seventies my dad was young policeman and worked a lot of night shifts.
Can't remember which day of the week it would be but he would leave a pile on the TV for me when I woke up for school. The wholesalers was on his beat so when they came in he would get first pick of titles.
So that sounds to me like they would arrive weekly at the wholesalers, at least in Middlesbrough in the late seventies.
In Gloucester where I lived in the 70s Marvels became available in most newsagents from August 1974 (immediately after the 4 month period when no Marvels were distributed). I used to spend my pocket money buying every issue each month. Whilst I can’t recall what day of week they arrived I can say with certainty the whole months worth turned up on the same day monthly and bi-monthly titles. This was the case throughout the 70s.

I agree that these are not variants. Fewer pages, different cover and the clincher of course; different publisher. These are more akin to the Alan Class reprints.
and unlike UKPV comics these are different print runs - the USA books are copyrighted 1966 and the UK ones 1967.

What do the interiors look like? I might need to hunt these out as those covers are so retro and copies that they are actually awesome!
UK and USA books reprint Hulk and TTA stories in B&W with sometimes different panel layout to fit a page.
I think edition is a better word than variant for these because although they are similar there is more than just a price variation. The UK obviously have different covers, and shows different publisher;
The UK book has less pages, last story page below, followed by that page of USA book showing more story following;
The UK book had 3 pin ups and advertising copy for other books which aren’t in USA book;
whilst USA book has some advertising which isn’t in UK book;
The Spider-Man and Thor books are similar format with similar differences.

I thought I’d see if anyone knows any of the history behind it
These are the UK versions of the Lancer books published in USA in 1966. There are three in the UK series. The UK versions are slightly abridged having less pages, and the adds for other books/comics are different.

Frank and Son Collectible Show open 3 days/week in Industry, CA (Los Angeles area). Looks like a flea market type thing.
The first thing they list is having vendors that sell comic books.
Anybody been here before?
Lots of walk through videos on YouTube if you want to get an idea what they are like.

I always think of the analogy between Marvel and the fire triangle. The fire triangle = heat, oxygen and fuel; take anyone away and you don’t have fire. Marvel triangle = Lee, Kirby, Ditko; take anyone away and you don’t have Marvel.

The puzzle is that this was not across the board. There were lots of certain titles, none of others.
Looks like they had set off water damaged, especially as quite a few of them were the ND issues.
I also believe they set of from US water damaged or were outside normal distribution as all the wrinkly ones I saw were cents copies. I recall getting Spider-Man #105 and #121 in such a state so it’s not as though it was one months batch which got damaged in US or transit. Kull #6 and Cap A #150 are two others I remember getting.

Still looking for a good option for Savage Sword reprints
Dark Horse did 20+ volumes reprinting SSOC well into the issue 200s they are in Marvel Essential format, originals and reprints in black and white. However a quick look on eBay they appear to be relatvely expensive.

Released in 1970 by Marvelmania fan club as a “tribute” to Jack, bit rich has they ripped him off by not paying for a lot of the work he did.
