  1. Thank you! And you may also be interested to know that I've got my "Hepcat Will Still Be Hepcat" thread up and running again in Comics General now: Interesting though that fifty years ago those really early issues of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories were just about as highly prized by collectors as the earliest Superman and Batman appearances (and much more so of course than the earliest appearances of Spider-Man).
  2. I'm fine with Frank Frazetta - so long as he's not drawing women.
  3. Isn't it the job of editors to prevent abominations such as the Rob Liefeld cover above? I still can't understand how Liefeld ever got any work in the comic industry. Not that I like Alex Ross' art either but Liefeld is a cut below just about anybody.
  4. I was into them by early 1965 as a kid! After I restarted comic and magazine collecting as an adult in 1979, it took me over a dozen years before I was able to start finding any Drag Cartoons, Big Daddy Roth, CARtoons, Hot Rod Cartoons, Cycletoons, Surftoons, etc. issues in decent grade. They're still not widely collected in comicdom though which puzzles me.
  5. Cool! Have you completed your run of Dell Walt Disney's Conics and Stories?
  6. Frisky Fables makes my list of all-time greatest titles!
  7. My favourite superhero's worst: And his best: Both pencilled by Gil Kane, but #8 above has Jack Adler's grey-tone inks while #33 is inked by old master Murphy Anderson.
  8. Repairing and re-entering a post from 31 December 2017: Here are my ten favourite toys from my childhood years. I limited my selections to only those toys I either had or really coveted but never managed to obtain as a kid. Accordingly I rejected a bunch of really cool toys from that era that I'd love to have today simply because I just don't remember being aware of them at the time, e.g. Ideal King Zor, Kenner Give-A-Show Projector, MPC Pop-Tops, Ideal Godzilla Board Game, Hamilton's Invaders, Marx Prehistoric Times Playset, etc, etc. Here then in rough order is my list: MY TEN FAVOURITE TOYS FROM MY CHILDHOOD YEARS 1. Mad, Mad, Mad Scientist Laboratory 2. Monogram 330P/LM Ferrari 1/32 Scale Slot Car Kit 3. Aurora Bride of Frankenstein Model Kit 4. Nash Skateboard (wooden with steel wheels) 5. Lionel HO Electric Train Set with Launching Helicopter and Bobbing Head Giraffe Cars 6. Revell Rat Fink Model Kit 7. Duncan Imperial Spin Top 8. Marx Three Keys to Treasure Bagatelle 9. Hasbro Marble Maze 10. Kenner Rocky & Bullwinkle Presto Sparkle Paint Set
  9. Oh my! Who's the cover artist on that Monster Hunters?
  10. Who's the artist? Is he a regular with DC?
  11. Here then is Madeline Smith from The Vampire Lovers if you need something to tide you over:
  12. What? How/why did you get all those copies of the same issue? The two on the left look really nice!
  13. More for you Alex Toth fanatics from Big Daddy Roth 2:
  14. Yes, twould truly be interesting to explore the darkness deep inside Sabrina!
  15. Here's another instance where Editor Julius Schwartz re-employs one of his earlier cover ideas/layouts. First from 1951: Then in 1961:
  16. So due to changes in this and other forums, a lot of pictures seem to have disappeared from the posts I've made in the last two years. Let me try to fix those posts. From 22 December 2017: Here are scans of a baker's dozen of the Murphy Anderson covers from my collection that I like the best:
  17. Here in Archie's Madhouse 22 from way back in 1962: S She was a bad girl right from the start.
  18. No, no Homer the Happy Ghost. Plenty of Spooky, a number of Casper and this one solitary Timmy the Timid Ghost though! But I agree that Homer is a must title for any self-respecting Marvel comics collector.
  19. Here in alphabetical order are scans of a baker's dozen of my favourite DC covers from my collection cover dated 1968:
  20. Yes! And I still say that Hawkman's original headgear without the wings looked better.
