8 months for a resolution. At least that is the gist of what I got out of the discussion thus far. I am not 100% on the whole transaction because it did not involve me on a personal level. I wasn't the one waiting for that long. Also not suspecting that people would be trying to reach you through the boards and you not having enough foresight to see that some people you deal with only know you deal through here. That to me is a real no brainer. This is nothing personal really. Just seems like a constant side show affair and doesn't inflict confidence in dealing with you. If I ever decide to retain you for business, I suppose then I will have an accurate way of the way you do business. As it stands, I will take people at their word and avoid it for now. Perhaps things will come to pass and I might deem you worthy to earn my money.

I will admit to being swayed on Menace. At first I felt that someone who has no idea how to conduct themselves in a orderly fashion businesswise belongs on the list so that others would take the time to think about whom they are dealing with. Then taking the time to really do some research on who is on the list and why made me realize that just because you are a flake, that doesn't make you a crook. If someone were to make a poll to remove him, I would vote for him to be removed based on what the list represents. He does not belong on that list. The HoS list is reserved for people who willingly, knowingly and are committed to swindling people out of their money. Not for used car sales people who don't have a clue about customer service or how they should conduct themselves in a business transaction.

While I agree with your line of thinking, Menace has shown the propensity to screw up ad infinitum. This isn't a new thing with him. And, yes, the kudos forum is useless. Sounds like a perfect candidate for the repeat offenders list. I'd accept that. There should be something other than a PL and HOS. There is definitely a gray area where someone is constantly on and off the PL. I just think a solution would be increasing the effectiveness of the Kudos thread. Make it a TRUE feedback thread rather than just "yay, they're awesome". Its a good idea, but there is a lot of common sense and fear going into the fact it would turn into a flame war command post. Which, stating my own experience, it would. And personally I have had enough of that elsewhere in the online world, why bring all that petty garbage here?

Only one refund that I'm aware of and it's done. Apparently one open sketch opp and the books will be at CGC after the holidays. Good thing we saved the community from him. I just can't see putting this guy in the HOS if he has tried... and is continuing to try... to get the job done. I know a member who can call moderation and get things done in less than 24 hours... maybe we can have him instantly taken off. I have no idea what you're talking about and yet I'm very interested. Since he's in the HOS, he really doesn't have any reason to try to get anything done now. No refunds, no books, no anything. I know the guy didn't handle his business to the best of his abilities... but it appeared he was trying. I suspect he will still fulfill his obligations and the pro-HOS crew will claim it is because they voted him in when it will actually show how foolish they were to do it. Lets hope so. It would be proof that he IS a good person to do business with and not the flake people voted him in for... Well...there's lots of room to get your obligations met eventually and still be a flake. And being a flake shouldn't be enough to get you on the HoS. If people remember what it was like when Frankie (Dr. Frankenstein aka Muscleshark) or Alleybat or Cap Freak were tearing it up, there's a huge difference. I'm not that big on that because the process to vote people on to that committee is gonna end up being a popularity contest. This isn't life or death but there are way too many vocal people here that are vengeful, vindictictive sociopaths. I like those people to be out in the open for anyone paying attention to spot. And quite honestly, who wants the responsibility? Clearly a public vote has issues but it will eliminate some obvious issues with an anonymous vote. You can't think of anyone you'd nominate for the position because you respect their opinions? I don't think the boardies interested in being popular would be interested in being responsible. +1 Most people wouldn't do that without pay And the ones that WOULD want to you would have to be suspicious of

While I myself have not been here long, I never would have suspected that I would actually contribute to the going on in this forum. I more or less came here by pure accident on Google, looking for alternatives to the shilling of eBay. Instead I found a very rich community, vibrant in life and most of all, democracy. The characters I have purchased from and communicated with has made this into a regular thing for me. As a newcomer, this is very interesting and waiting to see how it develops
