  1. AND I missed out on a blue #1 #2 #3 Wanted too much for them I think....
  2. Dude, not just an attic, his FATHERS attic. I have spoken to him on the phone. He said he was 73 years old. I totally believe it. I dunno how old his father was....but man, talk about bizarre. I appreciate the seller revised his listing, there is zero chance that book was a 9.0 or greater. Just checked up on it, #81 is gone for $400 it looks like. I was hoping to get another one to trade a black or something with, but I think its going to be way too rich for my blood. I am just happy I got one at all.

  4. I have had several people asking me about these, so I want to put it all to rest. I am the buyer of #55. That is all I have to do in the matter. The seller sent me these 3 pics and I chose #55. I placed them here to show how much of a freak of nature that these would pop up out of nowhere. It blows my mind. Here is what I have to say on the whole thing
  5. Read em and weep.... Cannot believe this, but its true.
  6. IG was one of the first series I collected and Thanos was instantly one of my favorite villains. The next would have to be Apocalypse.
  7. Havent collected the cards, thought about it though. Still trying to get my hands on one of the ashcans. I started collecting this when it first came out in '93. I have finished collecting the regular issues, have some slabbed signatures and now trying to get a full SS set (only 34 or so to go!) Thats including the glow in the dark and the 3D. The coveted ashcans are high on my list as well. I envy you guys for picking them up early. I left collecting in '98 and just a few months ago decided to start up again. I forgot how much fun it was, and now with the internet, its at a whole new level. Excellent thread!
  8. Hi, I'm me, this is you. I just found this thread. I live in Canada. It's cold. We don't have penguins. We never break seals cause that would void warrenty.
  9. I ran phpBB forums for a long while. It's impossible to IP ban someone from a forum, yet allow them to continue to post in other forums. However, you can ban someone from just a forum section. Take a lot to get it to work(on the backend) but can be done. Perhaps this is an option? Ban them from making a sale thread or viewing them until they are off the probation list?
  10. That is ridiculous. There are many many examples of this happening and the seller being informed and the situation being corrected. And yet...... If the price is right the rules are forgotten. (thumbs u We are kinda drifting towards the sales threads being eBay, without (gulp!) the protections available on eBay. When someone starts a thread about a possible scam on eBay, one of the first things people look at is the seller's feedback. Unfortunately, a few months ago when we kicked around the possibility of turning the kudos threads into true fb threads, there wasn't much support. People really don't like hearing the truth. That, and people tend to exaggerate and seek attention. I would have thought with the invention of "social" media that attention seekers would peter out. Why oh WHY is there still "reality" TV? I left a neutral comment on a seller at eBay once. I was contacted by the seller stating that they "lost a months worth of business" because of it and that their sales would be down for a long time. I apologized saying that I didn't realize that feedback was a popularity contest and that I am Canadian and we are generally honest with each other. We are all human beings, we all have flaws and once and awhile it's not so bad to have them pointed out to us. Just my
  11. I don't ignore this point, as it is valid. Killing the goose that laid the golden egg would be the worst of all possible worlds. I just got here and I really don't wish to see it go I can't read what you're saying until you get to 100 posts ^

  13. Pov is going to flip when he sees a poll that only goes for 72 hours. This type of rules change is going to take a longer voting period than just 72 hours. it's a poll to see if any changes should be considered - not changed. You vote was obviously worthless as you didn't even bother to read it properly. +1
  14. I just stumbled on this discussion, I think its mostly B... As for buyer beware, I totally agree on this point. I currently have someone who has never made a post in a forum, has a recent (The day I posted my WTB thread) for an exceptionally rare item I would wish to have. Not to mention pointed me to an eBay sale of said item with same credentials. Hmm....indeed....
  15. The prize of my signature collection thus far.
