  1. Yah, that's all it says... It's definitely priced significantly lower than a graded 9.6 would be... I guess I mostly didn't know if they're saying "otherwise" 9.6 (i.e. "Qualified") or if they're saying it's 9.6 but pricing it lower on the chance it would come back a bit lower if submitted. I think I'm going to pass and look for something around a 9.4 blue just to be sure. Thanks everyone!
  2. I'm looking at a book that an online dealer has graded as 9.6 with a note that the bottom staple is missing. It's priced very aggressively for a 9.6, so I'm thinking maybe it should be "Missing bottom staple, otherwise 9.6" or something. As best I can tell from the scans it *seems* like it's a manufacturing defect, but I'm not sure... Everything else looks really good, but I'm also not sure what the missing staple would mean for grading... Is it even possible to have a 9.6 missing a staple? Assuming everything else is 9.6 worthy, what would the missing staple do to a CGC grade? Thanks...
  3. I'm still missing an issue, but this is a good Drac storyline too...
  4. I hear you on this. I'd like to upgrade my copy, but I hate to part with the one I've had for decades
  5. Give it a shot in the Modern sales board if you haven't already
  6. I'd prefer to own a Cerebus to the Hulk, but I think Hulk is far more important... I also own neither and, despite several attempts, cannot get into Cerebus. I'd still prefer to own the aardvark right now
  7. Great, thanks! I was being a little overzealous thinking an easy 9.0, but not too bad. Interior is super crisp, mostly white, but prolly Ow/W if graded. Thanks again
  8. yep, both staples are super tight... Thanks! Maybe overpaid a bit then, but probably not out anymore than I would have been by buying CGC and having to crack it to read
  9. Another early SA guest spot! Maybe little less corner than the 39/40 x-over? I'm still waiting for my 40 to show up, so I'm not sure. Now I need to go get Thor 150 though! For now I suppose it's time to re-read DD 37/38...
  10. Just picked it up off of ebay... there are several spine ticks, and the back-left cover appears to have lost a little gloss near the corner. How badly does the gray smudge along the back spine and top hurt?
  11. Donate them to a children's hospital
  12. The white really does shine on that one... congrats!
  13. *fingers crossed* I'm on the verge of buying a few copies just to see what I can get!
  14. Guess this one's on the edge of Silver/Bronze, but... it's Bronze, right? Picked up a JiM 114 a little while ago, and I decided to read the early appearances of Crusher Creel. This one had me laughing. Good old slugfest... were we supposed to think he died at the end of the issue? Hulk could speak and think much more than I assumed he would be able to. Why in the world did Bruce Banner just happen to be flying the only rocket CC could grab onto? Why didn't he actually turn into something besides human form when he just said it was a mistake to have turned back to human? Why would CC lose Hulk's strength just b/c Hulk turned back to BB? What does it all mean??
  15. "Indeed he is! And after he's found [trouble] -- lent aid, and photo-graphed it-- the black clad [hero] swings over to the roof at 410 Chelsea St." Very annoying expository box following the promise of a fire fight... I wanted to see what happened!
  16. I had a handful I sent in just a bit before they made the announcement... E-Man #10 (First) PGX 9.9 -> CGC 9.8 E-Man #8 (Charlton) CBCS 9.8 -> CGC 9.8 Daredevil Annual #4 (1976) CBCS 9.8 (Penn Dutch) -> CGC 9.6 Pretty disappointed about the DD... no Grader's Notes... may try for a resub at some point... other than that, nice to have the books in the correct holders... wish I'd waited a couple of weeks to submit though!
  17. yep, that's purty! What did Bob have it graded at? Spot-on, or did you get a deal?
  18. I call dibs on the movie rights if whoever wrote that is a boardie who sees this and gets reunited with his old comic book!
  19. Good lord. That's awesome! Who are the SS's? (I always loved that one-shot from the 80's...)
  20. I think I got more views on this topic than anything else I've ever posted
  21. It was in the most recent Heroes email... http://www.heroesonline.com/heroescon/guests
  22. $74... That thing's got to be a NG... Link now takes me to a decent looking raw copy... good job saving that crazy image!
  23. I agree! I was working on collecting a raw run but ended up just reading the Omnibus editions instead... It's sometimes better to see the artwork in B&W... I got to meet Marv, Gene, and Roy a few years ago...
