  1. Looking at the Ross Andru thread must make you happy
  2. AND buying old school original art is soooo much better with the word balloons actually having words in them!
  3. Did you spring for the "Expert Setup" for only $219.49 per unit?? Good lord...
  4. man... I just keep coming back to this one... That REALLY pops. Very very nice
  5. One of my favorite series ever... none of the sequels even come close... These are my copies from when I was a kid and read them 1000 times over... And while certainly not Copper, I really liked this series from DH as well... I bought all the original art for the 6-page backup story from Peter and have them framed in my living room
  6. Oh man... thanks for the info... Hopefully everything turns out ok with the baby :-/
  7. Wow. And #1 by a pretty good amount too. I'm pretty surprised! (I guessed asm300-9.4)
  8. I'm not seeing anything directly from Nick or John or Image... just got an email from DCBS that the 2 issues had been cancelled though. Is the series done? DCBS message just says, "Cancelled by Publisher"
  9. Years ago I got a Feldstein SS on Shock SuspenStories #1 at a Con... asked around on the board to see if anyone could find Jack Davis or Marie who were, I believe, the only other living creators at the time... (now, sadly, all gone... RIP) Awesomely someone got the JD sig for me, but in that same thread (not sure if it was the same person) someone said that Marie did not do SS as she was bothered by the financial incentive and windfall that others got from her work and sig. So... at best this is 3rd hand info and seen through a little fog of auld lang syne... Caveat Emptor
  10. sweet, thanks! Got a couple more DD 9.8's that I've had in the cart waiting for the next coupon.
  11. I did this with Daredevil when it was only something like 1-300 and then read the rest as they came out. (Up to current) It was definitely cool to stick with 1 character for such a long time like that! Tried the same thing with the 80's/90's Silver Surfer, but it wasn't the same... Spidey would be sweet. Im just now getting around to reading the early highlights...
  12. Not the DD title, but still belongs in any DD collection! hoping I didn't post this before... just looking through some stuff and saw it again
  13. Not nearly as beautiful as so many of these awesome rooms, but I'm finally getting pretty close to organized! IKEA shelves on the sides, Wal-Mart particle board bookcase in the middle, and I build the shelf across the top with all the Hornets bobbleheads and other thingamabobs... Graphic novels, regular novels, and some Russian gold on the main shelves... CGC boxes on the left, non-Marvel/DC/Image books on the right... Bobby Ewing in the middle... Some of my favorite slabs on a shelf I built over the CGC boxes with all the DD related Funko Pops... (3 of these are just slabbed Daredevils... and most of the stacks on top are DD... I need some more boxes!) Riley Rossmo interior page from Proof #11 signed by Rossmo and Grecian with an Al Feldstein signed print to the left... Another shelf I built toward the back of the room with a few TMNT books and a rarely-graded E-Man appearance... side wall with a giant Andy Lee Daredevil water color on rice paper... Eric Talbot signed TMNT print above it... custom Albedo #2 clock (made by a boardie... I can't remember who did it, but I love it) Another custom TMNT #1 clock made by the same boardie over the door... signed and sketched by Peter Laird... and the back two closets with mostly DC/Image on the left (coin collection in the briefcases), and Marvel on the right... 8 shortboxes full of nothing but DD And a giant panda I bought for myself on Valentine's Day a few years ago... EDIT: oh yeah... In the main living room instead of the comic room, but I figured it deserved a spot here... Commission wall currently featuring Jim Lawson, Peter Bagge, Joe Staton, Riley Rossmo, and Brian Defferding. I have a Rob Guillory in the works to fill in the open spot...
  14. man... those high grade square bound books really do look great. Congrats!
  15. That's really cool... I wish my name was "Dan Spiegle" though
  16. Thanks! Got it from wwcomics... spine corner dings are the worst thing about it. 2 *tiny* color breaks along the spine near the center that you can barely see in the scan, but otherwise pretty good!
  17. I picked up a raw copy recently cuz I wanted to read it... almost went wild and picked up all the early BC appearances, but somehow managed to control myself. Pretty fun issue though, especially having finished the PS4 game. I'm sure I'll pick up at least 195 soon as well around NM- I think...
  18. That's beautiful! Still on my want list too. Nice.
  19. Ahhh... too many recaps of the original "*snap*" to keep track of!
  20. hah. That's awesome. I love how the guy in the commercial says moon ro-butt like how Farnsworth says it on Futurama
